Wenger. Let the Hypocrisy Begin

For what feels like a decade, Arsenal Wenger has been vilified by the Arsenal fans.

Their greatest ever manager had to sit and endure the hatred, the heckling, the protests and even worse, the walking away of the fans.

It would be foolish now if the fans returned for their remaining home games and start chanting “One Arsenal Wenger"

But something tells me that’s exactly what’ll happen.

I hope for his own sake that he wins the Europa and not for the boo joys of the Emirates.

Hounded out
Only been at Arsenal for 22 years

And the protests have been going on for 10

If that were true, (which it obviously isn't) then he's hardly been 'hounded out' all of a sudden, has he?

Contradicting yourself now, fella.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nope. You conveniently added ‘all of a sudden’

If you honest believe he hasn’t been hounded out then you’re lying to yourself.

Shock horror that a bit of humility goes straight over the OP's head.

Yes, because he's just announced he's leaving at the end of the season... all of a sudden. Even the players didn't know he was going apparently.

If you're really not WUMming, then I'm a bit concerned about what is so difficult for you to understand about this.

For someone that been hounded out, as you claim he has been, he's done a damn good job of dragging said 'hounding out' out.

The hounding was so bad he signed a new contract last Summer

Arsenal fans may have tried hounding him out last season, but it didn't work so they just gave up and stayed at home.

For a fan of a club that has had 7 managers in the time Wenger has been at Arsenal, and already has seen fans call for the current manager to be sacked, it seems a bit rich for you to be preaching to us about our behaviour.

He signed a new contract much to the anger and frustration of your fan base. There were mass protests and planes flying over your stadium.

The fact some of you are playing it down is illustrating my point perfectly. Hypocrites.

Before he signed

And then he signed - because he was not hounded out....

You’re lying to yourself.

The football world watched that man get vilified for years. I look forward to the next game at the Emirates and the banners of thanks

It has to be both acknowledged and accepted by one and all that he was a breath of very fresh air when he arrived at Highbury, and enjoy the successes he achieved. The gunner teams he created and nurtured were a joy to behold. You didn't need to be an Arsenal fan to appreciate the man's skill and passion for the game.

But, with life in general, all good things come to an end. Because of his success, only matched or beaten by Ferguson, he had risen to a position of power in the club which, on reflection, spelt it's and his demise.

Should he have gone earlier? The obvious answer to that is a resounding, 'yes'. But no one exercised the power to remove him.

Listening to Jurgen yesterday, its crystal clear to me that he won't be with us post-2022 if indeed he even stays that long. No way is he planning to do a 'Wenger'. He is his own man and he will be gone sooner than many think he will.

Metro, presuming you have the attention span to do so, read the following article. It'll help you come to terms with whatever issues you apparently have regarding Arsenal supporters relationship, and feelings towards, Arsene Wenger.

Of course, there is an extreme minority that don't care for respect, or consideration. But all clubs have those types.

Liverpool FC have only recently shown this to be true themselves, in the most high profile of ways.
