Am I the only one?

We approach another season's end, another disappointment, another head coach finishing the season who didn't start it (Monk excepted), another culling of the squad and another summer of being linked with everyone on the planet, living or dead.

It would be heaven just for once to have a largely settled squad and look to strengthen in some key areas, instead of having 15 players coming in who we have never heard of and wind up in the same sorry state as in the past.

Am I the only one who has grown tired of sites like News Now Leeds and their updates on who we're looking to bring in? I really am worn out with all of this and whereas in the past it would excite me, now I simply can't be bothered.

The stability and positivity we craved under new ownership has quickly evaporated under the weight of further disappointment and under-achievement. I don't think I have ever felt as flat supporting LUFC as I have this season.

The lack of quality in the playing staff, the incompetence of the management and the poor performances and results on the field have taken their toll.

We need a big spark from somewhere - something to chew on, some hope for the future, but it's hard to see where it's going to come from. Right now, putting promotion aside for this season and in general, I'd settle for a decent standard of football with passion, effort, honesty and getting the basics right - that would be a start.

Surely that's not asking too much, is it?

I sincerely hope you are right Stevie, however the strong feeling of Deja Vu felt by me and expressed by the others on this thread makes me doubt it.
It all feels like we are going back to square 1 every season, any slight progress made in a season is wiped away by losing our best players and replacing them with inferior ones. Then a new manager, even more players who are not up to the job, slide down the table, just do enough to avoid relegation, rinse and repeat. Leeds supporters always start each season full of hope, praying it will be different but it never is.
It is very hard to be optimistic the way things have gone in recent years

Very true.

Willingness to throw the youngsters in?

BPF - a blind man would have dropped lonergan/weidwald.

O'Connor - only played because 4 centre backs were out injured. Was not thrown in when said centre backs were fit and shipping goals.

Pearce - only played because of defensive injuries. Was not thrown in when said defence was fit and shipping goals.

Hecky and kids is a myth lets face it. He has continually selected Lasogga who has shown absolutely nothing for weeks. Hes picked failed senior players out of position rather than bring in other kids.

Your right to be worried - LUFC have major work to do between now and August and suspect we will be minus Pablo - we can start by a decent win against Barnsley.

Spot on Reverend, that preparation for next season should have started as soon as we were out of contention for the play-offs. If you think about it, we have had a month's start on most of the other teams, but what do we do? We stick with players who are not good enough or not committed enough. Kebab has hit the nail on the head about bringing in the youngsters.
If you think this season is bad, I predict Heck will turn you into a nervous wreck by October.

15 is far too many. Four or five for me and build a decent spine.

Sites like Newsnow are to be avoided if you want to keep a grasp on reality. Newsnow regurgitates old news, pumps out fake news and treats rumour as fact. I used to hang on its every word until I realised Newsnow is all about generating stories, true or false, just to get the hits. It's a bit like Leeds at the end of a typical Saturday – pointless.

"an emotional, personal dislike decision and that is not the right way to make business decisions and now we’re lumbered with PH."

Jonty, I don't think there was any dislike there, I think it more like a boss away to often to see exactly what is happening and the people he's entrusted to run things while he's away saying things ain't right!..

He'd look dumb if he threw them out and kept the coach!..

Its the way things in the background are being done that is letting things down, new players for the youth squad is all well and good, but one or two less with a few out of the first team and 3-5 quality wouldn't do AR or the first team any harm at all, but he has to go through the bods he's left running his club, and they might not like that!..

So, get rid of them and bring new in, that way things just might improve!..

Problem with that is at least one of them is a very good friend, and that just might be a barrier!..

The kids have not been thrown in by choice it was because of homegrown player rule, but don’t let the facts get in the way.

Germany, I'm not so sure, when you watch the AR interview he almost couldn't wait to answer about why he sacked him and it was very personal.
