The game is more than good Hitler

Right Amiga......... You ready .....Had a great weekend, fishing all friday afternoon and night into the morning, then over my mates for a couple of days (the mrs is so grateful !!!)

Anyway I played it on Sat and Sun morning over my mates for a good 14/15 hours !! so a right decent session. So here is what i think.

The GOOD:

Firstly it looks great , textures are pretty good and the overall scenery is excellent fantastic in that respect. Story is pretty good not groundbreaking but very solid (you rarely get much in terms of original story in games) basically a father / son bonding story.

The characters are pretty strong, liked them and they had some of my interest.

Really like the upgrading of everything in the game (upgrade your upgrades!), crafting is also decent fun.

Different levels of enemy some enemies are much stronger than others as indicated by the colour above them some enemies can kill you very easily.

Liked the fact that your son gets properly involved in the fights.

The Bad

Combat isnt the best, a bit clunky and trying to remember all the combos is a little annoying. The clunkiness of the combat is enhanced more byt the poor FOV and camera angle IMO. Too close and over the shoulder menas you ,miss out a lot in terms of what you can see and the game is aware of it and has implemented the warning system.

Bosses are not easy but not difficult either .... let me explain. The first time (or a few times) that you fight a boss he will prob kill you, they are strong and can kill you quickly however they are dumb. They will fight in patterns so in theory all you have to do is learn the sequence and its straight forward enough.

Not a diverse enough amount of enemies, too many enemies are the same in terms of design, animations and attacks they become a little repetitive.

The game difficulty, we started it on the 2nd from the top and it was actually pretty decent. (not too easy), but decided to up the difficulty quite early on and wasnt impressed, instead of making the game harder, enemies smarter, quicker etc it just gives them more health. I hate when a game does this it doesnt make it harder, just longer, for eg the only difference is that they hit you for more damage and they take twice as much damage and thats pretty much about it.

So Overall, really enjoyed it, its a very fun game to stick on a blast through, puzzles are fairly straight forward but its not really that type of game. Combat isnt great but you never get tired of throwing and returning your axe !! Story is good enough to take an interest in.

Not the 10/10 that people are saying not by a long shot but its defo at least an 8/10 and I recommend that people give it a bash. I wont buy it now but I will wait for it to drop in price.

Yes i'll def get god of war at some point although having great fun with yakuza 6 at the moment!

cant really compare it with Skyrim its different. For a start God of War isnt an open world game where you have that freedom to just do what you want. Its far more linear.

Also im assuming you a bit younger than me, Skyrim is arguably the poorest of all the Elder Scroll games IMO anyway. Morrowind was for me by far the best, I also preferred Oblivion to Skyrim. It still didnt stop me from whacking a good few hundred hours into Skyrim mind you !!

But back to your point I love Elder Scrolls and therfore will be biased in my views but this isnt at the level of Elder Scrolls. Its also difficult to compare them as they are both years apart in terms of development i mean Skyrim was released 7 years ago !! so you cannot compare things like graphics and textures etc.

I have Morrowind as 10/10 game not perfect but amazing and have God of War as about an 8/10 which is still great and I would recommend playing it regardless if you think its better or poorer than Skyrim
