Scapegoats?

Trippier and Davies made scapegoats by by some of our fans ?

I was reading some posts and responses about how we need upgrades on them as we have gone from a back four of Walker,Toby,Verts and Rose to having these two at fullbacks.
Last count I made we have 3 of that back four still injury’s aside so Davies and Sanchez have had to step up.

However due to us losing yesterday we as fans feel the need to have someone to blame last two games it was Lloris this week it’s Trippier and Davies why ?

I thought they both played well it wasn’t there fault that Dembele got caught out trying the scotty 360 turn and Utd scored, it isn’t there fault Rose is injured and Walker facked off , it’s not there fault that they play one game and then are rested so there unable to get any sort of consistent form.

They are imo made to be scapegoats and it’s unjustified, Poch cost us yesterday by not starting Toby and dropping Lloris, no ifs no buts that is the truth.

agree Poch has a lot of learning to do, but we are just not progressing is the issue that I have, infact going backwards, we so miss Walker and Rose of last season, and Toby and the replacements are not good enough and with Trippier, Aurier and Davies never will be have to buy better and move forward, buy Sessengnon, Masuaku

Edward, Trippier is awful mate, no getting away from it. Davies has been poor for a while as well. Neither can cross ball to save their lives. Both need upgrading on.

Aurier will be OK, giving a run of games.

Sandy Aurier will never make it, really bad buy

So you are judging him after what 20 odd games in his first season. In that case both Walker and Rose would have been out of the door, both were infinitely worse than Aurier in their first season at Tottenham.

The problem for me is that we cannot really attack with pace.

I think that's the main difference between us and City. When de bryune and Silva get on the ball they have Sane, Aguerro, Walker, Mendy(When he was fit and killing it), and Sterling bombing around with electric speed.

Against the smaller teams we are ok but the bigger teams we are not dynamic enough.

Moura and Son help with that. But Aurier needs to step up and we need real pace at LB.

The full back positions are a major problem for concern. Poch hasn`t helped with his constant rotation. He has turned four reasonable full backs into complete duds.

A fit and on form Rose is what we need at LB with Davies as understudy, the problem is Rose has failed to reach the same levels post injury and has probably burnt too many bridges by gobbing off about `his worth`,when Rose plays these days he looks an angry man who feels he is being underpaid. I can see us cashing in on him this summer if the offer is acceptable.

Trippier is a capable understudy to somebody like Walker, coming into the team as and when seen fit and not letting anybody down, whilst not pulling up any trees either. Aurier has made mistakes and at present is short of the quality we need, hopefully he can be turned into the top class RWB we need.

The other problem is, that by selling top class players, we are unlikely to be able to replace them with as good. If Rose is sold it`s unlikely we will find another LB as good as an on form Rose, likewise with Toby.

Which ever you cut it, that brilliant back four of Walker, Toby, JV and Rose, has been well and truly ripped apart, firstly by money, then by player envy and injury. We`ve gone backwards at the back and not improved at the front to compensate.
