Not the kids like Cairney who all clubs make mistakes on.
Not the players who left to go to the Premier League - hard to keep hold of
but thes ones who went sidewards or abroad over the past decade who really could have offered us better than what we have
Ill start off with
Antenucci - 26 goals in 59 games for SPAL since leaving Leeds. He was a greedy lad but less greedy than Saiz to be fair.
Adam Clayton - disposed of by Warnock for ducking out of an header. Sold for only 400k and then after being Towns player of the year was later sold to Boro for £1.5m
Kasper Schmeichal - Bates/Grayson told him he wasnt good enough and sold him for £1.2m. One league title winner later..........
Matt Smith - sold for 500k. Not progressed massively but i would sooner have him as an option than Grot who cost more! Smith gave everything he had in a Leeds shirt.
Players who should never have left

Ant couldn’t play on his own, rightly left
Kasper shouldn’t have been sold
Clayton - was utter garbage for six months, that why he got sold
Huntington - wasn’t good enough at the time and isn’t has good has cooper or janssen
Smith - would never have been a first teamer but good option from the bench

Tom Lee's
The move at the time was the best thing for him, he'd certainly be better than Pennington and possibly Cooper

Green - understand why he left but my god it was dumb to let him go.
Douglas - good solid player who we should have kept hold of a little longer.
I’d also say Frazier Richardson should have been kept, however despite the fact he wasn’t anything special Paul Connolly did a fairly decent job as his replacement.
Maybe rui Marquez, always felt he would have been a decent option for at least a season after he left

Green was the biggest mistake we've made this season, can't underestimate a good goalkeeper, wins you 9+ points a season

To be fair we should never have let Rudy go. Our midfield has never recovered and whats more, ppl give Veira aggro because they see him as a proxy Austin, and he simply isnt.
Poor decision.

I'd have Clayton and Schmeichel back like a shot. Cairney too.
I'd also be warm to getting McCormack back, definitely goals in him.

Schmeichel leaving was down to Bates. His career had bombed at Man City and he was loaned to Notts County. When he signed for Leeds, he had it written into his contract that if he could secure the first team shirt from (I believe Lonergan) his wages would be doubled. Rather than honour that, Bates waited til the end of the season and circulated Kasper as being available for transfer and Leicester got him for £1M. Typical Bates stunt the old shirt front!

Did not know that about the KS situation, thanks Eddie!

🐜 Ant said he was always going back to Italy and that Leeds was a short stay. Agree with all the above. Pedraza apparently given he's had a cracking season in la liga
