Not often I agree with Alan Shearer.....

.....but I did when he talked about how ineffective we were vs Man Utd on Saturday.

"They have already seen one of their stars, Kyle Walker, leave for Manchester City where he has won two trophies this season.

It would not be a surprise if more players followed him out of the door. If Spurs are not going to pay the big wages then there has to be a reason - other than a player's love for the club - for them to stay at Tottenham.

Winning trophies would work but we are still waiting for that to happen under Pochettino, and this season Spurs have fallen short again."

Eriksen, Verts, Sanchez, Dier and Dele all had good games. The rest played in the woeful form that they are all in really (bar Vorm, who isn't the best).

Eriksen and Alli didn't play great in the second half either.

They were ok though, hence why I said good.

Our whole team was in bad form and it showed on Saturday. It happens.

Oh it certainly happens mate. All the time with us when it matters

Our team probably have a less than 50% chance of winning against the top teams. There are games where things will go our way and we put our chances away. But these teams do have quality and will create chances and likely score..In some areas of the pitch we do lack quality and the big boys have quality that can hurt us.. I don't understand why many think we should just turn up against these expensively assembled teams and roll them over.
If we are not scoring the goals to win games and dominating these teams its plainly because we don't have the personnel to do it consistently. Our away record against the big boys is poor for a reason
We either invest and pay the wages or stop expecting the trophies to start rolling in.

Good ol' Shearer...legend of his boyhood club...where he won fack all...Might be his way of saying he regrets going there.

Good old Al, expert in stating the bleeding obvious.

Always does that

Slightly re-words what someone just said...then sits back like a grinningbollock like he's said something profound.

eriksen wasn't bad but very little came off for him in the final third... some of his long range shots were woeful

Our best player was Vertonghen. Everyone else could have done better.

We left one of our best players on the bench the whole game - Toby.
Much better in the air than Sanchez.
Would have stopped their first goal.
