Bi-polar fans

Hi all,

Much as is expected to be the norm on this forum these days, our fans vastly overrated the team when they are good, then go way OTT when things are bad. As is been seen right now.

We all would have taken an FA Cup run, qualifying from CL and top 4 (looking likely) at the start of the season. Yet being the only team not to invest in their starting XI (arguably) for the second season running it was never going to be a season in which we hit the levels of last summer.

The promise is, that the stadium is holding us back, so new investments SHOULD be being made this summer and we sign the players to carry on being competitive. With the exception of the Alderweireld situation, which is shambolic from the management (yet we don't know the full truth around the situation); we have the tools to have an even better season next year.

Lets all not feel sorry for ourselves, we are getting close sometimes you just need that extra bit of luck to push you over the edge

because we have Dembele, Dier, Wanyama, Winks i wonder if the club see CM as much of a priority as fans do

They do. The B2B two are both injury prone, 1 DM hasnt been the same since his bad knee injury and the other is a CB

Yeah definitely, Edin. Schneiderlin didn’t have the minerals to play for Man United. Preddure got to him. On paper it was a good signing, in reality it was one of our worst in many years.

Why is the FA apologizing to Harry Kane over a comment by Chris Smalling, probably made in jest?

Not only was it funny, it was also true!

FA, you have to relax that stiff upper lip!

It had nothing to do with Smalling. They doctered what he said to make it funny.

I bet he was fuming with it.

I noticed Dembele had a bit of limp when was walking in the tunnel . Does he walk like this or is he playing with an injury?

I’d see him pull up during the first half. Was just after he did a chop pass leading up to the Eriksen chance

I think Dier is a good DM and not the required level yet in a back 2 and not certain to get there either. I hope you’re right

Need to have a good and well organised transfer window. Get sick of saying that though and being let down.

Typically, we will sell whichever players are to go first, and not have all our business done yet going into the new season. I actually would not be surprised either if 1 or 2 were sold to a rival after Walker was last season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Its tough to predict, we have had good summer transfer windows in the past 5 years and bad ones. We have had ones we thought were good that turned out to be bad, and ones that we thought were bad that turned out to be good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd appreciate one where we were to get our business done early for once.

We always scramble around on the last day of a transfer window or late in August some time. How about not doing this for once so we can be fully prepared going into the start of the new season?

I mean presumably Poch/Levy/the club knows that Toby will be off already. We should have our eyes on targets now. Not in 3 months time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Poch said as much a couple of weeks ago, that the shortened window would enable players to get settled in earlier, rather than signing them towards the end of the window when the season has already began. I don’t buy this reasoning that clubs offer mass reductions on prices at the end of the window, besides if it’s offset by a lack of squad preparation - something he had alluded to - then is it worth it?
