Sanchez, Giroud, Ox and Walcott

It's crazy to think we have lost the players above over the last two windows. We have to admit all the players on that list have made an impact for their new premiership clubs. Some more than others.

Giroud is starting score goals for Chelsea and in big games. Sanchez has come to the party for united and Ox is also excelling at Pool. Walcott has also been a key player for Everton with his productivity.

It does annoy me to see our ex players doing so well with other English clubs and with our rivals.

We have players like Welbeck and Iwobi where we could still have the likes of Giroud and Ox playing with the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette. Yes both players wanted to go but surely another manager could have done a better job in keeping these two players?

I'm sure Castor was fully supportive of those players' abilities when they were at the club right?

And what's the point of moaning about what a different manager would do now? Did you not hear the news? We'll get to find out soon!

Think there will be more redevelopment than a couple of players going.
The likes of Chambers, Ospina, Holding, even Kolasinac are ripe for the chop.
Welbeck, Koscielny, Monreal could be others the new man may push out
Wouldn't be surprised if Laca went, tbh.

The defence should get an overhaul this summer.

Really hope Laca doesn't go as he's a proven goalscorer who just needed some time to settle in a new league and struggling team.

Even if the warchest is only 50m, as you say, any new boss will want a lot of the current players gone which will free up wages and generate additional cash.

Apart from our defence which pretty much needs a complete overhaul and Xhaka who is poor we are pretty sorted anyway. Admittedly buying 2 new CBs a GK and CM will set us back a few bob though.
@ £150m I'd say.

Who are we gonna sell to raise £100M in cash? The entire squad?!

Conservative estimates:
Xhaka £15m
Welbeck £15m
Iwobi £10m
Mustafi £20m
Ospina £3m (or is he a free?)
Monreal £10m
Chambers £15m
Holding £15m
Joel Campbell £5m (yep he's still on our books)
Jenkinson £3m

Good thing is we could theoretically get Meyer and Horn for relative pennies.

Transfer fees are not paid in one go. They amortized over the length of the contract. So Arsenal could spend £300m and only need to pay £50m this season.

I doubt the exodus will be as great as this. At today's prices, £150m will buy us what...? 3/4 players? And if it takes selling 10 players to do that, we'll be up sht creek before we even start the new campaign. Remember Tottenham and the time they bought 6 players and how carp their season was? We can't afford to do that.

I expect the new manager to use the players currently available for the most part and get rid of maybe 2/3 first team players plus the fringe players like Jenko.

Yes I tend to agree. I was just explaining how we could raise money and add to our existing transfer pot. Of the list I provided I'd expect only 5 of those to actually leave with perhaps a big ticket player like Bellerin, Ramsey or Lacazette as a surprise sale depending on who our new boss is and whether he rates them.

Can't believe people still think that expenditure is so black and white.

If we hadnt sold those players and others we would never had got Laca and Auba. The money we made was spent on them. We havent invested money in the team, we had to make money from selling players and our net spend this season is a £3m profit.
