Players been sent to Burma for 2 games at the end of the season.
isnt it pretty chaotic there?
seems like a strange move.

There is no debate.
No club would have played in 1930’s Germany or Bosnia in the 80/90’s.
We are talkkng about genocide! GENOCIDE! What is the feckkng debate!?!?

How about China? Would it be OK to play there? Or Thailand - where they import thousands of Burmese to work basically as slaves?

Plenty of top clubs play friendlies against Chinese/Russian/Turkish teams. Two of those countries send teams into the Champions League ffs. None of them have good human rights records. Playing a game there isn't saying you approve of it

I think the England team gave the Na zii salute at the 1936 olympics.

Do they murder them, men, women and children? Two poor examples to try and justify a misinformed, naive tour.

Not all the team did - against the orders of the FA. However, are you saying because they did we are ok to visit a nation that will give credibility to a genocidal government?

Stoopo makes a valid point, I worked in Saudi Arabia.
Taking the moral high ground I guess I should have recognised the poor human rights record and declined the offer. I didn't and thankfully met some fantastic people out there, rich and poor (and incredibly rich too).
However, it is a poor decision that does nothing but attract negativity from all quarters.

True North, looking at that photo there does seem to be 11 arms in that salute!..
