We need to learn how to frustrate teams..

It doesn’t sound nice it’s not sportsman like but it’s a part of the game we lack.

When momentum switches the slightest touch we should be going down, rolling about, walking slowly to throw in’s, the Jose Mourinho classic tactic..

When we go there that’s what we should be doing to really frustrate them..

Also my big concern right now is our squad it very thin outside the first 11 and our bench actually weakens us when making substitutions right now..

These are my two main concerns that are going to cause us a potential upset although I think we have far to much for Roma anything can happen..

I want us to play a full blow reserve team this weekend the players look shattered..

What do others think??

TAke a tumble, exaggerate a sore leg we have all been watching football long enough to know this goes on and it works....

i think the roma manager will be frustrated enough after being completely battered!

Fair enough I think your missing the point.. watch real
Madrid for example
If they are 2-1 upmor something with 10 minutes to go and the other team is attacking them.. Jamie Carraghwe describes it as the dark arts of the game.. when we are out of steam and getting battered towards the end of a game.. killing momentum and slowing the game down stops the opposition scoring.. Mourinho does it against us at Anfield every time how many goals have we scored against United at home under Mourinho..?

Madrid are a poor example. If they're 2-1 up with 10 minutes to go, they'll generally be looking for a third.

Ronaldo plays for the soft foul the most out any player I have ever seen when protecting a lead it’s just an example. Lots of teams do it I think we need to learn how to do it ourselves...

If you want the perfect example it’s Mourinho I’m no fan of his style of play however he is the absolute master of killing a game and stopping and oppositions momentum.. our Achilles heal is letting in soft goals near the end of games... I don’t want it to cost us our biggest chance of a European Cup in over a decade...

Playing for the soft foul is one thing, even the defenders in Spain do that - all the fecking time. It's something I've learnt to live with but willnever get used to.

But sitting on leads or playing speculatively, that's a different matter. Madrid are incapable of doing that properly, it's not in their DNA. It's one of the big reasons Mourinho became so unpopular here and we always fell short in the CL under him.

VVL we did frustrate Roma last night, we spanked the bullicks off the for 75 minutes. Quite an extreme form of frustration I agree, but with their players shouting and arguing with each other and their manager too, with Roma in complete melt down, a high level of frustration was indeed achieved by the Reds.

No, we conceded when we started doing things slow.

We thrive on stunning the opposition, not allowing them time to arrange themselves IMO.
