Perm 2 from 4?

Technically there are 7 or 8 clubs who can claim a play off place but realistically it's between Boro Millwall Brentford and us for 2 places.
Last night, finally, we saw the passion that is needed. But will we stay in the top 6?

Look below us ...

Millwall have to play Boro and Villa. They could easily lose both and I don't see them getting more than 3 points max but I think Boro will beat them Saturday.
Brentford could pick up 2 wins but 4 points is more likely.
So, 1 win for us should do it. Against Villa would be good. That and a Millwall defeat would clinch top 6.

We've been really poor ... too negative ... since Xmas.

Desperate times made GR rethink. The formation has been changed. It was a brave move but it seems to be working. Whether it will be enough ... time will tell.

But let's make sure we buy the ticket for the play off lottery. Who knows ... " it could be us!"

It was nice to see the team show some intent in the second half last night, more of the same is required for the last 2 league games...

Yep looking back with hindsight it has a definite air of sabotage about it.

I'm with Harper about our chances in the PL... but my spin on it is different.

(1) If we don't get up this time, the existence of many teams on 4 years of generous parachute payments in the Championship - in combination with Financial Fair Play rules - will almost certainly lock clubs like ours out of the top division for as long as TV money rather than gate receipts are what powers football.

(2) Therefore we should go up with a plan of becoming a yo-yo club... rather like WBA did back in the day. We should buy, not to survive in the PL in 2018/19, but players with promise who will come in the top two in the Championship in 2019/20, and be of sufficient quality ( and by then experience) to survive and even prosper in the 2020/21 season.

Or as Burnley did in 2014/2015, Wideboy. They bounced back up again and I hear they aren't doing too badly now.

Do the yo-yo. It's the future.

Err. I see the logic but its hard enough just be be promoted, let alone predict where we will finish, and how many managers would agree contracts based on assured demotion........

Just get promoted. Buy more Scottish players. Stay up.

Huddersfield haven’t done too bad this season after only winning 3 of their last 10 league games last season and scrapping into the play offs

Relegation was the word I was striving for......not demotion......

I know you'll get to like it if you give it a chance now

I find it helps if you think of Kylie while you're doing it, if you take my meaning.

Who does he play for?

Why, Derby, you chump. We signed him from St. Mirren only last year.
