You do understand how European football works right?

The best teams from each country qualify for the CL and the lesser ones (like yourselves) go into the Europa League.

The top four ranked countries are Spain, England, Italy and Germany. Liverpool have knocked out a German and English team, topped a group with a Spanish team and we’re playing an Italian team in the semi. Add to that a Russian team (6th ranked country) in the Group and knocking out a Portuguese team (7 th ranked). The weak link was from Slovenia (30).

Meanwhile Arsenal have also played teams from Spain, Russia, Italy and Germany, but lesser ones based on qualification from last season. Then you have been to Serbia (25th), Belarus (27), Sweden (22nd)

Looking at it another way using club rankings. The highest ranked team you have played yet is CSKA Moscow ranked 35. We have already dispatched teams ranked 6, 11 and 8. The rest of Liverpool ‘s opponents ranked 63-108. Arsenal ‘s 53-122.

Fair enough Atletico are ranked 3rd so are above Roma but until the semi round by round Liverpool have faced better opposition however you look at it.

Sorry to ramble on but maybe you Arsenal types need to learn about European footy.

Equally your group was very easy.

From Pot 1 you got the team with lowest coefficient: Spartak. You could have got Real Bayern Juve etc

From Pot 2 you got again the team with the second lowest coefficient as you could not draw an English club at group stage.
You could have got Barca, Atletico, Dortmund, PSG

From Pot 4 you got Maribor when you could have drawn Feyenoord, Celtic, CSKA

Then having made a meal of the weakest group, you dodged the big guns again and drew Porto.
