At what cost?

Some of the stated aims for the short term future are to reduce the playing staff down and improve the quality, all within the current wage structure.
As we know, there are a lot of players who are just not good enough at this level and most are on longer contracts.
My view is that some will leave of their own volition, Klich comes to mind, but of those left, the only way to shift them will be the player agrees to tear up his contract if the club pays a certain fee.
Most of the squad will be heading either for lower/non league clubs or out of contract. Would you agree to that without a nice fat cheque to see you on your way?
So, how much is it going to cost AR to get shot of, by my reckoning, Wiedwald, Lonergan, Coyle, O'Shaugnessy, Denton, Anita, O'Kane, Ekuban, Sacko and Cibicki.

I am not convinced, of that lot, that the following will be gone:

Coyle,
O'Shaugnessy,
Denton,
O'Kane.

One man's junk is another man's treasure, may surprise us how many of the players we don't rate are wanted elsewhere. Good example of this is Lonergan who came very close to going to Sunderland.

I don't think most of the squad will end up in the lower leagues. Most of the unwanted players will head back to the countries we signed them from.

Wieldwald will be back to Germany, I imagine a German team will take a punt. Klich too is clearly highly rated in Holland and will have a lot of teams wanting to pick him up. Same goes for all the foreign signings. With our wage budget being capped at 15k, most won't be on much more if more at all money than they were before. We lose out big on transfer fees but don't think they'll be hard to shift.

It's the domestic players that will be harder to shift.

Depends on how desperate they are to play football.

Or whether they wanna do a rodwel

I’d add Grot to the list of those to go!

Rodwell is going to be on 40k in League One...crazy. I don't actually blame him though, if he left Sunderland, he'd never get anywhere near that again.

JLA, Denton is a left back, Pearce and De Bock will get the nod before him.
Coyle is a right back, lots of options there, I think he will sign for Fleetwood, the future for us in that position is Bryce, he needs offering a new deal.
The other two need to ship out.

Phillips needs to be gone once and for all.
