NFL Franchise...

Just a quick question really with regards to the latest news that the Jaguars are looking to buy Wembley as a host stadium for the NFL. Does anyone know if that will impact on our NFL deal? I know a deal has already been signed for 2 matches per season for 10 years which can't be ripped up but surely the main financial gain from that would have been seeing that figure rise significantly by signing many more deals with other NFL clubs. Now that Wembley is an option that basically puts us in second place for attractive NFL stadiums. This surely wasn't what Levy was expecting. We could end up in a situation 10 years from now where we have an NFL pitch lying totally dormant. I'm not a fan of the sport anyway but it's surely going to hit us financially.

Anyone know what this could all mean?

Not worried financially. I'd be more concerned about his motives. The NFL games we will host are icing on the cake since we will be playing footy there every other week. Wembley doesn't have that luxury unless he plans to resite Fulham there and redevelope Craven Cottage.

Thought we were hard done by with having to play our home games at Wembley...hell of a schelp coming from Florida for a home game.

As long as it doesn't happen to the PL. Bad enough that we've had to play our home games at Wembley. We don't want to have to play them in Kansas.

Hi all, just my two cents as I may be massively wrong but:

Personally I see this as something that is very worrying. The whole NFL design and aspect of the stadium was probably a huge financial outlay and Levy made it with the promise of a large financial income from the NFL. Even though we have the guaranteed contract for 7 games for the next 5 years (I believe) - I suspect Levy did it knowing that a large proportion of the future income of the team can be offset by a franchise moving and becoming a London based team - with their home-games at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

For those that have followed NFL for a while, it has been known for the last 5 years that it would be heavily likely a team would move to the UK as it is such a viable market. NFL UK is just getting bigger and bigger, and the games are still selling out in record time having a fan-base of literally the whole of Europe.

There have been a few teams rumoured to make the move, but in my mind it has been clear for years that it would be the Jacksonville Jaguars. There are already 3 teams in Florida (including Jags the other two being Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers) - with the Jacksonville team being an unattractive franchise that struggles for attendance. On top of that they are the team that has played the most league games in London due to having one of the smallest time zone differences (+5hrs).

The "London Jaguars" is an ideal franchise for an American sports-team and was something I believe Levy has known for a while - being the shroud businessman he is. It would be a huge financial income for our team - and a great financial injection for the area of Tottenham. With this proposed news, it will be a real shame if NFL Wembley takes over - the only thing I can hope is that the prospect of an artificial grass pitch is much more lucrative to an American owner than the concert & football ruined, mud-bowl that is Wembley is.

To play Devil's Avacado () though - it would be awesome for the FA to sell Wembley and reinvest all that money into grass-routes even though we know they wont.

Edin our contract is for 2 games per year for 10 years.

Only 2?

Wow, I thought it was meant to be way more than that.

Point still stands though.

They way I see it is if London jaguars a permanent at Wembley then for them to make it easier they’ll bring 3 other teams over and play each other.

For example

Jags play USA team 1 > Wembley
USA Team 2 play USA team 3 > NWHL

Then

Jags play USA team 2 > Wembley
USA team 1 play USA team 3 > NWHL

Then

Jags play USA Team 3 > Wembley
USA team 1 play USA team 2 > Twickenham

That’s just my theory though
