We shot ourselves in the foot tonight and it’s likely we will do it in Madrid too but I genuinely think we can beat them.
I don’t care if they played with 10 men or not, Atletico get off on this type of situation and when everyone was fearing a 0-0 at HT I was saying I’d take it because Atleti love nothing more than being the underdogs and having their backs up against the wall.
I thought we’d concede a few tonight but apart from a moment of madness from our captain, we were better all over the pitch for about 75 minutes of the match. Atleti have the away goal but at home they are still gonna have to come out and play and if we create half the chances we did tonight then we should be able to punish them.
They’ve gone 11 home games without conceding but Milan went a long time without conceding a goal home or away and we put 5 past them. Griezmann aside, Atleti didn’t show anything tonight to be afraid of. They’ve only won 1 of their last 6 games ffs. They aren’t one of Europe’s elite, I refuse to believe that it’s gonna all end just like this.

Tie should have been over at ht, we missed so many chances. Athletico should have been looking at there heaviest defeat in Europe, instead they somehow leave the game with a great chance of going through to the final. We’ve blown it.

TBH a lot of us would have taken 1-1 tonight before kick off. Just the circumstances have made it so fecking gutting. Also considering we couldn’t have asked for a better chance to get a solid win over Madrid, but we just fecked it. I was saying during as the game was unfolding, this was our golden chance to get ourselves into the final. So annoying aubameyang couldn’t play as well.
It’s not over. We should have Mhkitaryan back, hope that little bit of extra quality can see us take a few more chances

Not been this gutted since the calling cup final of 2011, so at least I'm recovering a bit of passion for the club.
Of course we can do it. People are saying atletico defended well, did they fack. We were opening them up even before the red. That gives me a bit of hope.

Playing against 10 men is often more difficult because they change tactics and have more men behind the ball. Atlético played with 8 men behind the ball after the send off

Nah. I stated it yesterday. To win these ties you have make sure you don't concede at home and then nick an away goal. Its not very complicated but well beyond Wenger.

Dunno how we turned that into such a $hit result, completely dominant and they were more interested in keeping it at 1-0. Sums up Arsenal in Europe.
