Aston Villa 1 - 1 Derby County

Villa Park
1500
28 April 2018

Well, they said it could be done and it was on Tuesday night. I genuinely thought that we put the season to bed against Cardiff and look what they go and do?

So, hope is once again sprung as Derby head to the West Midland's second team looking for a back-to-back win and hoping that other teams do us a favour(s)....

Difficult to say who should play and in what formation, the talk is that we will be unchanged after but surely there may be some caution especially as we are playing away from home?

Only Winnall and Anya are definite noes for playing but Villa could have John Terry and Kodija back who missed their 4-0 win against Ipswich last week. They will be up for it - they need to win and hope Cardiff lose at Hull.

All ifs and buts....and relying on others to trip......we need to win and of course if results 'go our way' we can be assured a of a play-off place.

Team news when it's ready.

Things to discuss:-
* do you like the name of the royal baby?
* Who should take the rap for the Windrush immigration debacle Rudd or May?
* will the two Koreas really kiss and make up?
* Will the new Abba music - the first since 1982 - be as good as Dancing Queen?

Forgot about losing to Real Madrid after being 4 1 up in the first leg.

I was just about to remind you (and being robbed by the ref. v Juventus).

I'm not one to bear a grudge either, but I draw the line regarding the ManU FA Cup semi-final at Hillsborough.

Apologies Spart - I failed to understand the depth of your angst

Misery is part and parcel of supporting a football club but we can't have rainbows without rain.

Snipe (on the wing) - a tricky target apparently, almost as if it knows someone is trying to blow it out of the sky.

It's the Derby way.

Great to be still in it.

To a man and a woman we would have taken this position after the opening 2-2 Friday night game.

Forget mid season slumps, this is where we are at and if we get in the lottery nobody will be wishing they have to play us, especially when we've now got a plan B.

Bring it on.

Begs the question as to why it took Rowett so long to tinker with things. We were on a horrible run, it would have been well worth trying it out far earlier as things pretty much couldn't have got any worse. Having said that, I now have renewed optimism after the results against Cardiff and villa that, should we make it of course, we will actually have a decent crack at it as opposed to a few weeks ago where i thought if we somehow ended up creeping in we would just be there to make up the numbers.

That was awful. I went to the away match as well. I was 11.
