Poor Haye, I was a huge fan of his career and it’s been an illustrious one too. Was so sad to see the once great fighter in that sort of condition!

Bellew would have to win a heavyweight title to surpass him imo, but you have to give credit to Bellew, although he wasn’t fighting an old man

Same here. I was a huge fan of him but looking back now. Him soaking up his ring entrance, I think he knew this was his last fight. I don't believe that he injured his bicep now. I think he wanted more time for his achilles to heal but there was no way of that happening. He even mentioned how his training wasn't based around power shots, It was based around leg movement, strengthening etc. It looked like he hadn't done any sparring at all for (which Matthew Macklin said too) for the very reason that he could have got injured during it which would put the fight in jeopardy. Annoys me that Bellew has Haye on his record now twice as I still find him over the top and cringe but it is what it is. Haye and Eddie both conned the paying public and the ones who thought David Haye was genuinely fit.

Perfect example is Eubank JR, If Eubank JR didn't have such a big ego to work with a trainer and take orders and wasn't such a Grade A Khunt, Booth could probably have made him into one of the greatest boxers of all time. Has all the ability and has a granite chin, just has zero tactical nous and a really low boxing IQ, just a brawler

Eubank has had plenty of trainers to be fair. Early in his career he lived in America and spent years training with Mayweather Snr and the mayweather gym. He is as good technically as he ever will be. I think he knows this as does others round him. Think he spent about 4/5 years training in America before moving back over here.

I had two acca bets with the boxing that were awful (Cox, Ward and Bellew & Cox, Ward & Haye) so both were gubbed straight away !

However after 2nd round I stuck 10 quid on Bellew to win by TKO/KO. and got 50 back so not too shabby

Haye looked totally shot. All the things that made him the boxer he once was had gone (speed, movement, athleticism and power).
Needs to retire now or he'll just end up getting KO'd by every other up and comer.
He had a good but underwhelming career. He could have created a better legacy as a HW had he not become more obsessed with being a celebrity.

2 things which can hold/end back your career when you start to age as an athlete...

Being more concerned with the high life than your professional and injuries, and Haye has suffered from both of those unfortunately.

He played his part, he was a brief bit of excitement when the HW division was in a long hibernation.
