Nice touch from the kids!

Good to see the youngsters honouring the memory of Ray Wilkins after their victory tonight.

Good to see the youth of today honouring the youth of yesteryear.

It's a fantastic gesture and very respectful. It got me thinking how hard will it be to integrate the whole team similar to 76/77 season when we lined up

Bonetti

Locke
Wicks
Hay (Harris)
Sparrow

Stanley
Britton
Wilkins
Lewington

Finnieston
Swain

These were all home grown and played that season with Chopper 12th man but quite often used in midfield to add experience to these kids.

I love the way the youth team move the ball around. They make space and time for each other with a lot of movement which is hard work but effective.

Any thoughts?

I wouldn't start as many as that but In a three at the back system maybe something like:

Courtois

Sterling James Luiz Christensen Castillo

Kante RLC

CHO Hazard

Abraham

In reality though I wouldn't play more than three (at a push) together at one time.

Totally agree.

I would love to see that in the first team but the premium is another level. This may seem like I'm being a bit of a killjoy but I'm just trying to put some perspective on it as you asked for thoughts.

Our under 23 squad contains many past youth cup winners and aren't a bad team now. They did really well in the checkatrade trophy but we're knocked out eventually, didn't play bad, were just out muscled in the end.

Older more experienced teams would be a challenge to our youth team, they wouldn't get the time or space they do amongst their own age group.

It would be great if we could use them in place of our first team sometimes, trust me I've thought about it but sadly it's not that easy.

Alan Brazil (the ) made it quite clear on talksport that he was going to Rome and not Ray's memorial service.

I don’t think Hay was home grown? Celtic no?

I think Bov was alluding to the fact that Hay/Chopper we're amongst the senior statesmen of the team.

If my memory serves, I thought Hat was a left back?

And yes we signed him from Celtic.
