Correct me If I'm wrong but Lamela is approaching the last year of his deal. Spurs have a one year option on him that would extend his deal to the summer of 2020. As far as I know this has yet to be activated.
What are your thoughts on him..... Talented....yes, one footed.... defo, work ethic.. great, Nasty piece of work.... love it, likes a tackle.... Hilariously bad !!
I'm indifferent re him. Not sure if he ever justified the hype, price tag. Of course injuries have taken a toll. sometimes think he's so typical of where we are as a club.... Good but not great & probably not getting into a top side anywhere else. I used to think he was a perfect Eriksen back up but the reality is, he's not.... when Eriksen doesn't play we are cr@p
So what do we do with him ?
What say you ?

I love his work rate and commitment but ultimately there is a lack of end product for an attacking player, he needs to add more goals and assists to his game.
I would say keep him though and hope he kicks on, we won`t get anybody better without spending a fortune and the squad has the need for more vital improvements elsewhere.

I'm not writing him off and don't need patience. I literally posted my comments saying 'its early days'.
It's just I had hoped with Moura we had signed a player who regularly takes on the fullback and constantly looks to run in behind. So far he has looked to pick up the ball from deep primarily, whereas I had hoped we had signed more of a Zaha type player.

I wasn’t referring to you, I was referring to whoever said or implied that they wish we hadn’t bought him

He certainly is not the player we thought we had signed, but he has found his feet here and is a trusted player of Poch.
If Dembele goes we would be silly to let another skilful player with bite go in my opinion.
I would love to see both him and Eriksen deeper in a proper 433 next year, with a holder behind them.

Liverpool too.
The mistake would be to try and find another Dembele, as there is not really anyone like him, and I feel the side is starting to go stale - we need to tweak it or it will regress without Mousa.
Rather than try and replicate that, I would like us to be more creative in there. We have two destroyers to pick from who mop up, and Eriksen and Lamela are essentially hard-working 10s, albeit stylistically different.
It would likely free up players such as Son, Alli, Moura (and possibly a new signing such as Zaha) to cause more damage

Harry Winks is not the answer for me. If he has a long-term future here I see it as more of a Carrick type of player than a Modric. The deepest of the midfield 2/3

Any one of Dier and Wanyama for the holder
I like any two of Eriksen, Lamela and Alli for the other two positions.
I would love to see Zaha come in, and to perm any three from Kane, Zaha, Alli, Son and Moura for the front three. I like Zaha for a centre forward on occasions, I think he would be perfect

Rumors are that PSG are in for Eriksen and willing to offer 100 Mil GBP.
Will Levy sell?

No chance. PSG haven’t got that sort of money to spend as they’ll have to start paying for Mbappe this summer. Clubs will hold them over a barrel because they know they can.

But they may be thinking of selling Neymar to Real,
so in that case the rumors could make sense?
