Great appointment in my opinion.

I think it's exactly what rangers need right now.

Absolutely it's a risk.

But looking at the obvious benefits and facts.

1/ rangers need an inspirational leader, a big character the younger players will be inspired by and motivated to play under. No bigger than Gerrard.

2/ rangers as a club need their profiles raised to attract players of a higher calibre than currently present. Gerrard can attract them. Hopefully we also benefit from getting some good loan players from Liverpool.

3/ even with murty in charge this season, we have been sitting in 2nd position for most of the season, so gap has been closing. But we needed better quality players to come in, that hopefully Gerard will lure to the club.

4/ it raises the club's profile and hopefully secures extra investment and funding.

Bring on the summer transfer window.

Saw Dave king at Glasgow airport yesterday morning.

Then Jonathan Watson at London city on the way back.....he's a strange looking character
