Won leagues and a couple of cups in Scotland, hardly from the depths of 2nd division obscurity.
But address the point, is it more disrespectful and bitter to say you hate the guy or that you don't feel as positive about the guy as others. I have a different view that's permissible surely.

Also won Aberdeen a european trophy against Real Madrid too. And then within a few seasons won United a european trophy against Barca. Hardly ‘a couple of cups in Scotland’

And to address your point. It’s not even about being disrespectful. Your views on the man are your own business.

Your issue here is your inability to respect the achievements which everyone else can see but you

Acid, I don't like the use of the word "hate". I presume that you have never met him, and that your comments are based upon what you have seen of, or read about him. It isn't disrespectful to not like someone, but equally, at a time when the man is fighting for his life, your comments are inappropriate.

Because of the rivalry will never really like SAF although I love his political views. But this guy is the best manager the U.K. has ever produced his record at Aberdeen was brilliant and his record in England speaks for itself. Not about football this really hope he pulls through, his family must be going through hell there is nothing worse than someone you love being seriously ill and seeing them suffer. So I really hope he pulls through.

.. “Barry turned up to watch a United game,” one parent with close United links recalls. “Mr Ferguson noticed him: ‘Security, get that man off this property.’ And credit to him.”

The man was all about his players, didnt like him, but the respect is there.

Wilko, I never said hate, LIW did. I on the other hand wished him well and expressed my views about his politics which I agreed with. I also said he was a good man manager and surrounded himself with coaches on which his rep was built.
Need to look at where the real negativity is. Others are saying they hate and dislike a sick man, that's distasteful.
Original post was I hate the man but wish him well, what's that about?

Fergie was a winner and successful in football, let's hope he's just the same for his biggest battle out of football. Here's hoping he does it.

Ferguson "overrated"? What a stupid opinion! I've heard some guff in my time frequenting these boards, but this just about takes the biscuit.

Kevin please do not use quotes and put words in my mouth. I certainly never said he was over-rated. Said he had a lot of luck (which any good manager needs), money to spend and surrounded himself with good coaches. I said in my view there were greater managers, Revie, Shanks and Paisley and other coaches who have done their clubs great service, quoting Gradi.
Nowhere did I say he was over rated and nowhere have I said I hated him.
People are happy to say they hate the guy but question my views, you guys live in a strange world.

And actually the people we hate in life we do not care if they live or die. Do people not question those double standards.
Weird.
