Bolton Wanderers v Nottingham Forest

So here it is. Whatever you want to call it? Survival Sunday, day of destiny, crunch time, or simply the last game of the season. The maths are simple. If Bolton are to avoid another season in league one and games against the likes of Accrington Stanley they simply have to win today and hope both of Burton fail to win at Preston and Barnsley at derby. If one of those goes against us can drag Birmingham into it. If they lose 1-0 home to Fulham then we can go above them with a 3-0 win or hope Fulham bang more in. Simply will have to overturn that 4 goal difference. Beating forest easier said than done. Bolton on an horrendous run. 6 defeats from 7 game since the international break. Only 3 goals scored and 15 conceded. Struggling to score and conceding goals, mainly soft goals for fun look every inch a relegated team. The abject surrenders at derby, home to wolves and at Burton give me little hope the players have anything left to win today and give themselves a chance. Forest are 17th could go up one place but effectively nothing to play for. Form wise won 2 and drawn 1 out of the last 4 and gave Cardiff a tough game so a tough nut to crack. Team news. Ken has taken over selection of the team and promised an attacking team. What he comes up with anyones guess. What we do know. Walker and Clough unavailable to play against their parent club. Kirchoff injured, noone doubtful. That would be a blow as the only outfield player who had a go at Burton. Possible recalls for little, wheater, Robinson, Vela. With the lack of attacking options Connor hall could finally be given his full debut. Early start, the weather is hot and sunny and whatever will be will be.

Who are these Tyler Walker and Zach Clough there must be some sort of mistake unless they are some of our missing players we have so many its hard to keep track.

Not sure about the u23s. Ive seen Jeff king keeps getting mentioned but when he played at West ham my thoughts were he's not good enough for the first team. Connor hall has scored a lot of goals but was given a free by Sheffield united last summer and I hear no sounds of regret from that direction. Not been given a new contract yet. Must be a massive quality gap between the championship and the u23 league. Walker hasn't been involved for weeks, Clough I think only started 2 games and was left out of the squad entirely at the end. Don't think either will be coming back here. Clough looks like he has regressed since he left Bolton or was it he found his level in league one?

Clough signed a 4.5 year deal when he joined Forest! Have they been had?

Not the player he was when he burst on the scene. Had pace and scored free kicks for fun. Don't know if parky left him out because he thought not fit enough or didn't suit the system or didn't even want him. Kind of a panic signing by the Andersons imo to appease the fans when madine was sold on deadline day and the chung Yong Lee loan fell through.

With six loan players going back o their clubs and twenty-two players out of contract, Ken has a job on his hands to assemble a decent squad before the beginning of next season.

Of course, we always have Ben Amos to rely on. He has another year left on his contract. He must have been one of our worst signings.

Ken says the retained list will be published next week.

I thought it would have worked out better for him but I suppose the old saying never go back rings true. Not sure Karanka sees him in his plans at Forest.

Looking back crackers giving Amos and pratley big contracts when the money was running out. Amos the elephant in the room. With the other 2 keepers out of contract probably have to come back as number one. Thinking of starting a summer thread like last summer buy only if everyone OK with it. Will start it tomorrow if OK.

Go for it Benny we'll need some something when the retained list is out. Will we hear PP is released before or after the players retained list?
Once that's all done we can get on with the transfer news with so many departing we should have plenty of that.

Your right Pasty but will there be any money spent? If not we have three options. 1. Use the youngsters. 2. Free transfers. 3. The loan market. Will it be another year when nothing gets spent?

SWIE I think we'll need to use the team selector dartboard on your choices. Number 1 the youngsters is very difficult to hit though perhaps an odd fluke there for pre season.
Ken needs a prod with a dart to remind him to get things sorted so we know where we stand and start sorting it out now I know its tradition we leave until there's only left overs for us but I think we could change it once in a while and try to be ready for pre season.
