Radz is selling up....kinda

The YEP are reporting that Andrea Radrizzani is in advanced talks to sell 10% of the club’s shares with the aim of boosting the club’s funds for new players.

He’s already bagged a £9million investment from converting loans to shares and the sale would apparently bulk up our budget even more.

How you doing mate?

Expectations in Germany for their WC team is always at least quarter-finals (Jurgen Klinsman, 2010), whats the talk there for this WC?

I said a while back that the intention was to "go it alone" initially on the basis that investment was available if the club didn't realise its ambitions. I'd heard Far Eastern investment but guess he's a well-connected businessman. Ifthis latest development leads to a better season next time around, then that must be good. Right?

Radz said on the 2nd August - (video currently on BBC Football - LUFC ) when asked aim for this season ( now last season)"we need to be competing, We need to be top 6".

Point is what he says and what actually happens are not necessarily the same thing and sometimes poles apart.

13th wow top man Radz - take a bow!

Sounds like your cash strapped already - doesn't bode well for the future.

I don’t think he’s personally cash strapped but on record as saying he wants the club to stand on its own feet. Selling 10% for whatever he gets is actually not a bad thing imo. It’s money the club is generating after all.

It brings in cash obviously but more than that it might bring in some help in the boardroom. I think he’s struggling more on the running side of the club than he is for personal wealth.

He’s always said he’s not going to just chuck money at the club and I agree with that strategy. We are a club with big crowds, expensive seats yet we have massive overheads. It will take more than a year to get the balance right I think.

Nobody yet knows what the 10% will actually bring in. It depends on what he values the club at going forward. He could even sell 20% and stay in control.

He hasn’t the funds and that’s why he’s selling bit by bit

LIW. The gu6 is worth hundreds of millions but just because he’s not prepared to do a Jack Walker it doesn’t mean he’s skint.

Try reading my post. He wants the club to be self funding. He obviously isn’t prepared to throw his own cash at the club. Why should he anyway? He’s in for almost £100m already!

I suspect he's got significant funds, he's just not willing to empty his bank account9s) and risk his other interests to fund LUFC as perhaps we'd like.

It's not like he hasn't invested, significantly, already in the club. Apparently we sp7nked millions on a carp squad last summer - so it's not like he hasn't spent already (or found the funds from somewhere).

As much as he'll spout rhetoric, he hasn't got the same emotional ties to the club we do as fans.

A Leeds United spokesperson has said to @BBCLeeds: “Any funds generated this summer - from season ticket sales, retail sales and any form of investment would go directly into the transfer fund to allow us to be competitive next season.” #lufc

Season tickets 15000 = approx £6m. New investment £10m. Plus any retail sales and player sales.

MAYBE £20m?

Is that enough to get the four or five we need?

The latest confirmation statement has just become available on Companies House.

Unfortunately it's dated 1st May, the day before this new allotment of shares, so it doesn't show any recent change in ownership/shareholdings* (if there is any).

Probably not worth looking at, but here's a link anyway.
