What I would love....

Is the Leicester of the last two games to be the Leicester of next season. I’ve nothing against Puel as a person which is why I was so supportive of him when he came in and what he did when he first had us was great. It was the Leicester of the last two games, high intensity, quick passing but better in possession than under Shakespeare.

If Puel wants to go in that direction, I am fully behind him. If these last two games are a marker in the sand of Puel playing how he wants - then brilliant. But I can’t ignore the last 19 games before Arsenal. I can’t ignore the horrific football, the bizarre tactics and the continual tinkering of the team to detrimental effect

So which Claude Puel are we going to get? I personally don’t think he will be here long enough for us to find out. But if Nev and Trublufox are right (and I would LOVE them to be) then it would be a big shame

So which Puel is the right one?

I’m as confused as anyone.

Puel came and adapted our style whilst playing exciting football and getting results. I was happy with him and impressed that he’d managed to do that.

Then he went mental and decided to use tactics and formations suited to players we didn’t have, and leagues we don’t play in. Vardy had about 2 chances in those 19 games and managed to somehow score 8!

Then all of a sudden the tempo goes up and we look dynamic and dangerous again. We beat arsenal and score 4 at spurs, only to look more fragile defensively than a Kevin Keegan team after a night out.

I’ve no idea now what he is. A terrible manager who’ll ruin us or a genius that’s just testing things before his master plan comes together.

I also can’t ignore those 19 games. I still don’t trust him. I worry massively if we lose Mahrez and Ndidi in the summer.

I also worry about signings. We suddenly seem to be linked with players with questionable attitudes and we saw where that took stoke!

One thing is for sure, the summer will be interesting, and vital.

Puel is never going to turn us into a possession-based team in the style he wants. Not only do we not have the players he needs to do that, I think he needs players better than we can attract to make it work. In my mind, it's about whether he is willing to adapt, not the players. If not then he has to go.

It's a pity we don't have a game left against a side in the bottom half of the League. I'd expect us to revert back to the awful sideways passing as Claude hasn't changed anything in the last few games - it was just 'good application' against the Gunners.

I'm still hopeful that we can improve with some new players better suited to his style and a decent preseason.

Yeah you’re right Nuneaton. Would it be the return to the terrible football we saw for the last 3 months if we played Bournemouth next week? That would of course be the players fault
