Nev's Monday i enjoyed that.

Well apart from our comedy defending, maybe i can let Simpson off because of his groin strain but i wish Taggart had been playing he would grabbed Choudrey by the scruff of his neck and said don't turn your back on the ball.

I hear the usual suspects on here hackles rise everytime the press accused their beloved old guard of not performing. But this comment is from the Chief Football corespondent of the BBC so i give him some credibility.

"A Top-10 finish but simply too many poor performances, first under Craig Shakespeare and then Claude Puel. Puel looks likely to pay the price but once again stories of Leicester players being unhappy with the manager's methods. Any chance of them taking responsibility? May be time the finger was actually pointed at them for once."

Before you start i know you think the six or so of represent ever LCFC fan trust me there are many who feel the same way as i do,but don't want to get abuse from you lot for commenting on the Demigods lack of performance.

Will Puel go it does not matter because whether its him or someone else this is the last time the players will determine who manages them and how they play.

It’s good propaganda but blatantly incorrect, nearly every one could tell the difference between those two games and the previous 19 or so, even the idiots in the news could tell.

High intensity and tempo, defending from the front, I guess I must have missed that in the previous games e before these two.

Propaganda you live in a strange world its opinion TB

Not from you Nev, you say it enough times until in your head it’s the truth.

At present we simply don't have the players who can pass and move well enough to break down a committed defence - I'm hoping this will change in the summer (assuming Claude doesn't get the boot).

Generally agree with you Nuneaton but not this. We do have the players to break down committed defences when we play a formation and tactics that work.

Are you telling me that a team containing Vardy, Gray, Mahrez, Diabate, Albrighton, Iheanacho can’t break down West Ham when deployed correctly?

Well they did not? because teams come with a game plan neutralize Marhez and sit deep to block Vardy's runs now that Ian's up to speed that gives us another option and will give defences something else to think about, Gray needs an end product and Albrighton needs to play less percentage balls and more targeted passes and none of this has anything to do with how we set up.

I respectfully disagree nev. I think we have enough combinations of players and formations there to play different ways to unlock defences.

I personally feel that we’ve stifled some of those players. Vardy being the obvious one. You have to be able to adapt during games. If working in between the lines isn’t successful, open the game up with width or go more direct.

Puel has only used plan A which is disappointing because I felt like he’d found plans B and C in his early days and decided to throw them away.

We struggle against teams who don't venture much over the half way line.
Vardy's quality but he's isolated and needs service. I'm astonished he's managed 20 goals given the lack of that.
Gray looked miles better on Sunday - because he had space; he looks lost when playing against a solid defence.
Mahrez gets three defenders in front of him every time when playing against a defensively minded team. Why? - because they know nobody else has the skill to prise open their defence so they can afford to triple team him. Anyway I reckon we need to have a plan without our genius because he's likely off in the summer.
Diabate looks promising, I'll give you that one for sure. Not there yet but very promising - I'd say he is already more productive than Gray.
Albrighton works hard but his control isn't the best at times and he doesn't have the pace or trickery to get past the massed ranks of defence we seem to face at present.
Ian - well you can see why Pep let him go for a measly £25M, his control isn't brilliant. However in the last couple of games he has looked better, much better and scored a superb goal on Sunday so perhaps he'll come on given time, he's only 21 after all.

You haven't mentioned the right back/centre back quandary, Simpson and Morgan have been wonderful players for us but one of their strengths is definitely not threading through killer passes. Or even forward passes. Although Wes has occasionally shown remarkable wing play skills at times (of the rampant bulldozer type).

Also interesting that you haven't mentioned anybody in centre midfield, another problem area for us, and critical for whatever style we play.

I don't think the squad is miles off, but we need a few more players who are comfortable on the ball and a decent preseason, which is why I'm quite hopeful for next year.

Mainly in agreement again Nuneaton 👍

I don’t think we have too much of an issue in central midfield if we keep hold of Ndidi. He plus Iborra, Silva and back up players should in theory be enough. Maybe one player of real quality would help here.

Defence issues aren’t in question!

Yeah Mersey, I don't think we're miles apart at all 👍
