He lost it a bit post Barca though.

I just made the point of difference between 2 of the strongest players that the P/L has ever had,to2 younger and physically less able players.
I must admit I think that the lad will improve with age and experience,and along with Rudi,will hopefully be around a long time.As for Morata, although I welcomed him to Chelsea,I don't think that his heart or his body is able to cope with the P/L. His heart is in Italy/Spain,and his body is not hard enough .

Never confident of beating Chelsea. But Mourinho does have an excellent record in finals whereas Conte has never won one. Which does bode well for us.

How do you expect us to ever blood young players if they dont get a chance to fail. Thats how they learn. If your waiting for a worldbeater to arise from the u18s then youll have a long wait. I still to this day dont understand why Kalas didnt get a chance he played one full game and kept an inform Suarez anonymous, and never played again.

He's as average as they come, he did ok at Anfield but in reality with the way we set up he didn't have a great deal to do. Schwarzer and a well past his prime Ash were made to look like world beaters that day too.

Why do some people always feel the need to look for some sinister excuse to try and find some reason to pour cold water on our youngsters when they put a good performance in?

I don't understand the logic behind some people's thinking here, it's almost as if they're desperate for them to fail so they can tell you they were right about how rubbish they told you the kids are.

How about the lad just had a very good game that day!!

He's a good player but will make mistakes and benefit through them.

That's how most top players are moulded.

Could do with beefing up though!

Rubbish, im not desperate for them to fail, have you seen my comments on Mason Mount? Im also not going to declare players i believe aren't good enough otherwise because they are under 21.

The reality is, while Kalas did ok that afternoon, he is not Chelsea standard overall and probably not even PL standard as he is in and out of Championship sides these days.

I wasn't talking about you specifically, just the general popularity on this board for negativity towards our kids in general.

It happened with Cheek, despite the rare playing time he had with us he was always being criticised on this board - look at him now in the England WC squad!

We have the best academy in Europe, it's about time we started being proud of them!

I say get rid of the academy and put the money into transfer dealings

that way we can still go out and buy youngsters from other clubs...

not that football teams do that anyway

I doubt any Chelsea fan isn't happy with Rubens world cup inclusion well i hope not, but it doesn't mean the concerns about him weren't legitimate.
