Yes, winning the pl absolutely shouldn’t be seen as something that de facto wins the manager of the year award (I think the issue with Pellegrini and Mancini is that they’re the only ones that didn’t, which is why there’s the additional sensitivity around it), but it’s the manner of it that makes this stand out.

There have been teams before that have comparably had better players than anyone else in the league and had deeper squads that haven’t been able to sustain a level of performance any where near what we did this season. To not only get to a hundred points, but doing it breaking the goals record at one end and conceding the least amount of shots ever at the other shows not just a dominance but a consistency and adaptability that no other manager has been able to do.

Normally, like the case in even Ferguson’s great teams, there will be tactics or a drop in performance that will drop points along the way. That just didn’t happen - only in moments that we immediately rebounded back from (and the only manager that can legitimately claim to have found a real solution is Klopp).

Before the season started, the main opinion was we couldn’t play Silva and De Bruyne (effectively two number 10s) in central midfield together as it was too attacking and I don’t think many managers would have thought to convert Delph to a left back to also help accommodate that, nor would some even consider dropping Aguero at times for key games because it was the best thing to do for our defensive shape as much as our attacking one.

It’s entirely deserved and watching Guardiolas tweaks and tactics in depth this season has given me more enjoyment than any individual player. There’s very few managers I can say that for (in the PL currently, Klopp is the other one, but he hasn’t yet got the consistency or the resources to fully compete).

If anyone really thinks Dyche, then it’s either natural bias at play or they really don’t understand what they’re watching.

That's not true.

There seems to be a lot of misconceptions on the City board about the LMA Manager of the Year award. No idea where it comes from but everybody is not out to get you. Simply managers vote for who they believe did the best job that season.

Sorry, I wasn’t talking about the LMA award.

Conte won it for winning the league with Mourinho's team.

The pl, think there was only Pulis and Redknapp that won it without winning the title, at least over the last 15 years.

Thought both of them were a bit daft as well, although for different reasons.

Well actually he took a team that finished midtable, completely changed their system, playing three at the back and won the league.

They won the title the year before, then Mourinho lost his marbles and the squad.

Conte just got them playing again, BFS could have probably got them doing that.
