World Cup League

Hi All,

Have developed a World Cup game, designed to be as simple as possible with not too much effort. Posted on another forum but thought I'd see what the interest is like here.

Squads and Layout
Two Groups - ideally four teams in each but can be tweaked dependent on numbers. Top two teams qualify for a semi-final, then the final.

23 man Squads - identical to that submitted in real life. FIFA deadline is June 4th, but in reality most teams are showing their hands sooner.

Initial Eight
Brazil - £5m
Germany - £10m
Belgium - £10m
Spain - £10m
France - £20m
Argentina - £20m
England - £50m
Portugal - £50m

Other sides if required
Uruguay - £50m
Croatia - £70m
Colombia - £70m
Serbia - £70m
Poland - £70m


Transfers
The transfer window closes after the first round of games - stops people with nothing to play for selling off their teams.
Domestic transfers as normal - so England hypothetically could end up with Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo as a front three.

Foreign transfers - Open to suggestions?


Tactics and Predictions
Written tactics with a 200 word limit.

Voting done on all games in the opposite group - must name a winner. If there are four in each group as planned this means potential draws, which is fine. The winner is selected based on majority vote, with two votes to each team resulting in a drawn game.
Head to Head record, then 'Vote Difference' used to determine who qualifies if points are level.

Three voters in Knockout stage, majority rule to determine who wins.


Schedule
Tactics posted on Friday - with deadline for voting the following Monday evening. Just a rough schedule and could be done quicker.

Start league with confirmed squads - 25th May
Gameweek 1 tactics - 1st June
2 - 8th June
3 - 15th June
SF - 22nd June
Final - 29th June
