Rob Green leaving Huddersfield

Would you take him back?
Even after virtually a year out, got to be better than the keepers we currently have at the club, including BPF.

You look at the first 10/12 games,(however many it was!)and we were up there with Cardiff ripping this div a new one, people around here were saying how good the defense was doing and one or two were getting a bit P'd off because Felix wasn't given the chance of showing what he could do!..

It was a defensive/keeper partnership that was holding us together!..

Somewhere shortly after that run the team fell apart!..

But the keepers took the brunt of the blame, it wasn't only the keepers!..

People saying the players were not trusting the keepers to do their jobs!..

Maybe, just maybe the keepers weren't trusting their defenders and that being the case was causing them to make a crap load of mistakes!..

We weren't tearing this league apart at all. We were getting results and playing effectively well, but apart from Burton, we didn't d/ck anybody last season. Even the wins against Ipswich, Brum and even Bolton were closely fought.

Shaun, who were the top 2 teams at that time, we were supposed to be one of the favorites while that was happening, sorry if I was being a bit of a prat in saying ripping, but I have a habit of saying things slightly differently knowing that someone would say something!..

Wasn't expecting one of ours to say it though!.

I’d start BPF next season, what’s the point in having good youngsters if you don’t play them. I’d also make sure he’s tied down for at least 4 years

I get the want of a more experienced keeper but it’s not as straight forward as get a keeper in and stick bpf on the bench. He has plenty of admirers and 2 years left on his deal. In principle you could hold him to his contract, but likelihood is, if another keeper comes in as no1, he’ll go. He wants game time at this stage of his career. If he can’t get it at Leeds he’ll want it elsewhere.

In which case we’re buying two keepers. It’s a delicate call, do you take a chance and let him grow with Leeds, with a solid back up if it goes t*ts up for the lad? I think we have bigger priorities so unless we’re spending really big this summer, which seems unlikely, i’d Stick with him and give youth a chance

If it was down to lubo

We’d have Huntington and Pennington infront of felix, with Phillips and okane in midfield

Utter clueless

Completely ignoring anything I've said recently, but none of that supports your anti-me rhetoric, right? Get a life mate.

If we keep Philips we're getting relegated next year.

I can’t believe saying this, Lubo is right on this one. Massive risk to have the young man as our number 1.We need a top, experienced keeper.

We don't deserve Green - or any other decent goalkeeper. In the last decade alone we've had, and let go of, a host a good keepers but they've tended to be used as scapegoats for our poor results. Even if Green were offered a deal, I doubt he'd take it.

Rob Green wasn’t blamed for anything.

Manager wanted a different style of keeper.

Managers gone.

If he can find better, won’t be back, if he can’t, he might be interested.

Who knows?
