Players Will Not Respect Arteta

One thing the guys at the top are forgetting is that Arteta knows the current players. Not only will his view be somewhat blinkered by that. But also a lot of of the players will not respect him, as he wasn't that good of player.

For a manager who has never played the game accolades is what speaks volumes for itself. Arteta has none, along with him being of a similar age to a lot of these guys.
The negatives far outweigh the good.
This is such a straightforward and easy decision to make.

Out of all the managers in the world these guys opt for this guy.
Even Vieira would be a better choice, as he actually manages a club and is an actual legend as a player.
But I suppose he would be way too belligerent and vociferous for the suits upstairs.

I suppose one of the questions is, why would city/Pep be so willing to allow Arteta to go to a top six rival with the view to reinvigorating them and making them a threat again, if they rate him so highly? Would they sell Sane to Arsenal too? Either they are so arrogant about their status that they think they're untouchable whatever happens. or they don't regard Arteta as that important or think they'll really miss him - or think that he'll do a good enough job to bother them anyway. Arsenal shouldn't be reduced to sniffing for City's crumbs, they should be forging their own path.

If the coach wants to leave to become manager there’s not much they can do really, short of offering him Pep’s job.

Some deluded people on here. Arsenal isn’t the job it used to be. Poor team (compared to the top 6) who finished 37 points behind city. No CL. No big transfer budget. Terrible defenders. Weak midfield. Poor mentality. You could pick anyone you like and you won’t be getting top4 next season with this squad.

Rooney rules comes to play that means they have no choice but to interview potential black managers even though it’s all PR since Arteta seems to have landed the job.

Regarding Arteta, time will tell, he could end up the first manager to be sacked by December or the first manager to win us CL and League double watch this space.

Rooney rule is absolute bullshiiiit. If I were a racist or discriminative chairman I’d just find a token BAME person and interview them as part of a tick box exercise knowing full well I’m not going to hire them whatever they said.

Not that it matters but I’m black by the way, I just feel that forcing people to be interviewed defeats the object.

WTF is this crap.

Any new manager has to earn respect. Arteta is no different. He was apparently well respected as a player and was a good player. Your attack on Arteta is misplaced.

But the board and Kronke have gone for a cheap option. Te real villian in this story is not Arteta, It is Stan Kronke.

I'm not attacking Arteta it's merely the truth. He was a decent player. Nothing special.
There is no way on earth he should be taking over a club like Arsenal. He is far too under-qualified for this.

I'd rather employ a decent player who was not naturally blessed but got to a high level on the back of hard work and cleverness.

I'd take Mertesacker and Arteta in top roles over the likes of Henry. They know how to improve players.

If he's up to the job then he'll get respect quickly. The players didn't respect Wenger when he arrived and didn't take him seriously but did after a week working with him.

Why are people comparing Wenger to Arteta? Wenger actually had some credentials and a rep. He was an actually manager with a track record. Arteta on the other hand is a nobody.
