Over the last couple of years we have seen the beginning of a total restructure of Arsenal football club.
Mr Wenger leaving is obviously the biggest change, but there have been many more.
We have made three significant, and excellent, employments at the top of the club.
Raul Sanllehi has come in as head of football relations. A major coup for our club.
As is Sven Mislintat, our new head scout. The highly rated talent spotter has already had his influence felt with the signing of Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Completing the three headed monster that will push us upwards is Huss Fahmy, the negotiator. The man who will get deals done.
These three are already working hard to bring in players over the summer, with negotiations for numerous players well under way.
Mikel Arteta looks set to be the man on the frontline, with his coaches yet to be determined. Arteta may lack experience of management, but that is certainly not a barrier to success. He is very highly respected not only at our club, not only by a lot of very knowledgeable people, but also by the best manager in the world - Pep Guardiola.
Per Mertesacker has already stepped in as Head of the Academy. We are likely to see more changes at that level, with Steve Gatting and Carl Laraman unlikely to return. Freddie Ljungberg is likely to be involved.
The medical department is undergoing a revamp, with Colin Lewin removed from his position.
The modernisation of Arsenal is very much underway, and the return to the glory days is not far away.
Ivan Gazidis and Josh Kroenke I look forward to an exciting future - starting NOW!

WB2 overly dramatic as ever
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet still way less dramatic than the fans who turn on the new manager in record time, will be.

Basically DJ with Wenger gone, all that anger that was targeted at removing him should now be being targeted at removing Gadzidis, since he is equally culpable, if not moreso, in the failings of the last 10 years. The fanbase is "Halfajob"...GADZIDIS OUT!!

Gazidis has done a great job.

How if he's just as culpable in the failures of recent times as Wenger? If Wenger had to go and should have gone a good 5 years earlier, as many assert, then how can Gadzidis have done a great job. When he's the man responsible for changing the manager?
Surely you of all people don't buy into the notion that our struggles have been solely Wenger's failings and Gadzidis and poor decisions he also made, had nothing to do with it?

He isn't as culpable.
He couldn't sack Wenger, he wasn't his superior. It was up to the board to sack Wenger.
What poor decisions has Gazidis made? Appointing Mislintat, Sanllehi, Emery? His increasing our revenue?

Not dealing with transfer issues at the club. We have all said for years our transfer business was shocking. Yes we made money but we're always missing out on players. You can't use the board to excuse Gadzidis either not convincing them Wenger had to go or appointing people around him to improve things. Such as a decent transfer negotiator. I'm sure Wenger could have gotten better results if we actually got half the transfer targets we had.

Coulda told Ozil to get stuffed with his wage demands too.

What transfer issues? He isn't in charge of transfers. We have also a greater net spend than most (only the Manc clubs spent more since 2014).
Are you suggesting Gazidis should have been out scouting players? Or he should have done Richard Laws job?
Gazidis has long been in favour of replacing Wenger, the board over ruled him. He then put a structure in place that convinced the board the time was right.
As for the Ozil comment .
All your responses show is you have absolutely no clue of the role and responsibilities of Gazidis.

My understanding of his role is that he's the man who is responsible for getting the things he's doing now done 5-10 years ago. The things he's doing now are all great yes but they all should have been done much earlier. Whether Wenger wanted it done or not. The CEO is the business' manager as the club manager is the team's. You can't have a debacle the size of the one we've had at Arsenal, for as long as we've had it, without BOTH either through action or inaction, being responsible.
That's why I was surprised by your posting this article, you've posted it as though he's just got here and made all these great changes off his own back and we should be bigging him up for it. When the reality actually is that he sat on his backside for years, doing nothing until fan anger turned the club in on itself all but destroying a legacy. Which forced his hand so now he is finally doing everything he should have to prevent all that crap in the first place.

Missed this article.
Gazidis has done a terrific job over the last year. It's clear the Wenger-Kroenke dynamic was stifling him.
He's gotten rid of all the riff-raff on our coaching staff. Appointed a director of football, head of recruitment, contracts negotiator and head of high performance. All to mitigate the effects of Wenger leaving.
He also managed to keep Emery under wraps until a few days before he was announced, which is impressive in this day and age.
I do have a few concerns about his attitude, he seems like he wants centre stage for everything. But on the whole, I'm largely impressed with the transformation of the club. Just got to see improvement on the pitch now, which I'm sure we will.
