Lewandowski

Apparently we are in advanced talks to sign him, I follow this bloke Diego Martinez on twitter and he seems to be pretty accurate at calling transfers early... He called the likes of Alexis to Utd when it looked pretty nailed on he was off to City.

I personally feel this transfer is incredibly unlikely... Why would he join us with the likes of Real Madrid and PSG rumoured to be interested?

If its true then im glad the club are looking for this level of player, Truly one of the elite strikers in world football, Im not gonna lie tho, Icardi would be my number one choice!

Yes xiuxiejar I like Icardi. He is quality and he might even bang 40 plus goals in Premiership in 34 games out of oossible 38 games. He is that good and skilled in my view.

Icardi would be my choice for sure, Lewandowski is a level above Icardi atm but Lewa turns 30 in the summer.

Icardi would be an upgrade now and be around for another 6-7 years too.

€110m release clause, Icardi.

Icardi will be in high demand this summer. He's been linked to Madrid quite insistently for a few months now too. Might simply be press talk, but the rumours haven't gone away even after the winter window came and went.

The fact he's been frozen out of the Argentina side could ironically mean he's even more appealing to potential suitors.

Icardi has been in demand every window for the last few years...doesn't seem willing to leave Inter (despite them underperforming & being stuck in Europa), very unlikely he leaves now with Inter finally qualifying to CL (after 7 years).

Likely to sign new contract which will bump up release clause or remove clause.

“We’ll talk with the club and do what is best for Inter. The target was the Champions League, we achieved it and will go from there.

“We’ll have more options on the transfer market now and the club will try to do something. Last year, they did all they could and improved the squad.”

Sounds like one of those situations where the player's open to staying, but only if he's convinced the team's going to be adequately strengthened.

Other clubs will surely be trying to turn his head, and his current release clause isn't likely to deter them.

Icardi's head hasn't been turned for the past 3 seasons (signed 2 new contracts in that time), always been consistent with what he said which is his desire to stay at Inter and now captain.
Even used interest from big clubs to get better contracts at Inter.

What makes you think head will be turned now?

Current (or higher) price tag will definitely deter Chelsea, probably not Madrid, PSG, City, United etc though.

Unless he's a lifelong interista, then as a pro footballer I don't see why his head wouldn't be turned if one of the current elite clubs comes calling and puts a juicy enough package on the table for him and his wife.

Icardi's motive for staying at Inter is to build a legacy (as main man) in the same vein as Zanetti.

That outweighs the alternative in his mind.
