In the event of a third season meltdown

Alex Shaw (@AlexShawESPN) reckons Mourinho will be gone by January. Carrick steps in until the end of the season, at which point Poch will take over.

In your view, who gets the caretaker job if Mourinho does have his customary third season implosion?

Carrick?
Butt?
McKenna?

Or do we bring someone in from the outside?

I asked the other day and got no answers, if Mourinho went, who would be the likely options? It's one thing to get rid, but of there aren't any obvious options...

I do hate when people post this. What do you mean they are no options. So if we cannot sign Guardiola we should stick with this? Please this is foolishly defeatist.

Go out and find a good manager with the right ethos, not "he gets results" bullsheit that got us into the LvG-Mourinho Sheetstorm. I remember so many debates about exactly where we are now simply because we settled for him.

Like Man United have no options about who might want to be manager if they came calling.

Is Moyes still available?

You're laughing, but if it was that simple for everyone involved then we wouldn't have employed Moyes...

I'd be happy to get the right person in immediately that plays good, quick, attacking football that we all want.

I was kind of looking for suggestions of who we could get in now that would fit the bill.

most of us did think Moyes was the chosen one at the time. Fergie told us so.

The only manager who is not available for United is Pep and even he might think twice

I don't think most thought Moyes was the 'chosen one' at the time, he was generally ridiculed with a load of memes taking the p!ss out of him. But I think the vast majoirty of United fans wanted him to succeed so were willing to back him. As the months went on it became clear he was only chosen because we'd left it late to get in a suitable replacement and had little alternative.

Jose didn't have his customary second season title win, proving he can break habits

Maureen is a busted flush and has been since the Real Madrid job broke him,he took it purely out of spite for Barcelona!

Giving this a bump seeing as it's still at the top of the "most popular articles this week" list for some reason.
