I think Sunderland in League one is a good move. It was a terrible move for coleman in championship and heading down but for Ross I think it is where sunderland will rebuild. They spent so long getting a squad for one more year that it became a terrible mismanaged group with no future. Now they can use the youth team and comfortably bring in better league one level players like Blackburn did and build to become a solid championship team.

Unless he gets relegated from league one the only way is up

For Ross, this is an excellent job. Will get a job back here if it doesnt go well and if it does he's in charge of a big club on the up, with plenty of backing available from the new chairman.

4 already out of contract and 1 sacked (Darron Gibson), but you are correct - especially with regard to that useless kant Jack Rodwell - who will have his salary slashed by 40% this summer and still have a gross (in more than one sense of the word) weekly wage of £44k

He’s won the lottery, probably on ten grand a week now instead of one. Great move for him moneywise, but as has been said, Sunderland are a fxxkin nutjob of a club. He’ll have to ship out half the team, then make it his own.

St Mirren have, as it happens, in the last couple of hours, given permission for JR to speak to Sunderland. So it should all happen now
