Did anyone see Alex McLeish's interview before the Mexico game? He was asked by the interviewer "What are your expectations for this game" his reply? "Well the expectation is Mexico should beat Scotland" No, seriously, he actually said that
The organisation of these games itself was a shambles but to go all the way over there and say that before we've kicked a ball against Mexico is beyond belief. He's an absolute dinosaur and I'm already dreading our nations league campaign under him.
I get this was a patched up side but in 2 games we have managed 3 shots on target, 3 shots on target in 2 flooking games
My other point is on the journalists reporting on it, especially that dweeb Chris McLaughlin. He's bigging the players up after it and saying they can walk away with pride and their heads held high
When are we going to get out of this loser mentality and start demanding more from everyone from top to bottom?
On about the only positive note, I thought big McKenna and Scott Bain did very well against Mexico, certainly seems to be coming on well that boy McKenna.

Everyone’s going overboard about these 2 games. None of these players will even make the squad apart from maybe 2 or 3. The squad was only assembled with these players because of a large number of call offs. I’m sure we will be much stronger come the proper matches.

Feel that this can be a problem in Scotland in general. We seem to accept that negativity and self criticism are the norm. We don't talk ourselves up incase we come across as snooty, rather than self confident.

It was a C team playing a friendly against a team going to the WC again, playing in searing heat in a full and intimidating Azteca Stadium, after playing a game a few days ago at altitude which is famously difficult to recover from.

I've no actual issue with how the game panned out Ivan, as stated I know it was a patched up team.
Still though, guys like McGinn, McTominay, McGeough and McBurnie considered the future stars.....
We might end up losing to San Marino one day.
