Has Karius helped himself?

So with the recent outcome from an American doctor that Karius was allegedly suffering from concussion after a collision with Sergio Ramos, has he really helped himself by giving his consent for the doctors to release this information?

I don't get why he couldn't just be sorry, take a good luck at himself and keep his head down and crack on playing, be at Liverpool or somewhere else. I really don't understand why he wants to keep making the headlines during what must be a dark period as a footballer. I personally think he's just digging a deeper hole for himself now.

99.99 per cent of players in the European leagues will never get a sniff of playing in the final rounds of the European Cup. (It's still, for me, the European Cup, not the CL ballix). To reach the final itself is a fantastic achievement. No player - aptly demonstrated by Mo himself - would want to come off, and I suppose that Karius is no different.

But, returning to the original post, I too can't see the reason or need for the American doctors to go live. Whatever credibility Karius still possesses has been somewhat diminished in my view by the manner of the revelation.

Ramos is a thug. Fact.
He seriously took out Karius. Fact.
He took out Mo. That's my take on it,other may disagree, fair enough.
Real won, we didn't. Fact

Get on with it.

Dont think he had much of a choice, when the papers got wind that he had been to see a concussion specialist in america the clinic started being harassed for information,

In my opinion Karius allowing the information to be released is all that would have allowed the doctor to resume work as normal.

Morespurs to answer your post:

Exactly what I said elsewhere, OP!

Karius should have apologised to the fans and hold his hands up. - He did, literally, straight after the game.

Anyone can mistakes and the only way to rectify errors is by first admitting to them. - See above.

He;s blaming concussion. - He has said nothing, not even the doctors are blaming the concussion.

Kloop has been a flop with his keepers! - Not sure Weidenfeller was a flop.

Both of them lack confidence and are mortified to make mistakes - No argument here.

Because at Liverpool, you're ALONE when you make a mistake!
You will Walk Alone! - since the game he has had support from fans all over the place, you're just focusing on the idiot fans who continue to castigate him.

I find it rather sickening that people are making jokes about head injuries particularly after SAF's recent anuerism.

I personally don't care if he was concussed or not as the third goal at least was a typical Karius mistake and he probably would have made a mistake regardless. But head injuries are no laughing matter

I think somebody may have briefly mentioned it above, but players take knocks all the time, blows to the head etc. Does that mean they are concussed as well?

I think it's too easy to diagnose certain things to people now. I'm assuming Karius would have to answer a few questions about the incident. Would the answers he provide potentially make the conclusion for the doctor?

Essentially my point is, I could walk up to a doctor and say I've taken a blow to my head recently, I do not remember the incident and it's causing me pain, does this mean I have concussion?

Based on brain scans taken which showed the damage apparently.

Even still though, the doctors have said that it is "likely" that the impact would have been felt and they have also said it is "likely" that this would have affected his performance.

So let's say for arguments sake that its true, is it irresponsible of Karius to continue?

Not of karius no, but it is part of the wider discussions of head injuries now, the sport has a duty to safeguard players. That didnt happen with karius.

Not sure why anyone is trying to blame him for a concussion diagnosis made by a leader in the field using the latest technology, who also said it was in the region of his brain responsible for spacial awareness

Im guessing the doctor wouldnt be second guessed had he diagnosed any of the posters who are doing it for tribal point scoring.

I'm not blaming Karius for having concussion during the game, but as this leading doctor has said he is likely to have suffered it during the game and he would have felt the impact during the game, if he hasn't alerted the medical staff about it, like I say, is it his responsibility then?
