Been saying for a while now we needed better quality in midfield players who have a bit of a hard tackle in them and can't be bullied bit of a weakness on our part. Think thats sorted. Our other midfield issue was sideways passing and lack of drive when teams park the bus think thats also been addressed.
We have two players returning from the Championship who will add to our squad in Marko Grujic who was nominated for Cardiff young player of the year and had the perfect manager to develop his game defensively and add discipline which he greatly needed. The boy has bags of potential so I expect him to return to our first team squad. We also have Harry Wilson who if you follow the Championship pretty much turned Hull around and saved them from relegation. Another player I expect to be in the first team mix next season.
If Fakir comes in its really down to a central defender either for depth or first team improvement but is there really one about available.
And I will let the keeper debate rumble on. I thought Karius looked very good barr the final this concussion thing now coming out. I don't know if he can mentally put that game behind him. But as a loyal fan I am going to judge him on the 32 games with no mistakes up until then and support him whatever happens.
Perhaps Solanke should go on loan. I think Ings was looking better and better and to many people write him off where as a good pre season he could play a good part in our squad. Another forward with potential might help us though. Origi has had a bad season and looks more a Ryan Babble type player would sell him and Sturbridge this summer.
All that aside we look almost the real deal.
I want a title challenge next season will see anything less as a bt of a let down.
Next season..

Good post, VVL. I agree with most of what you said. But with other suggestions, I'm not with them.Wilson, for me, has got to make the squad this season. He saved Hull from relegation. Again. StevieG could well guarantee him a permanent place in the first team, but for me, he is back home where he belongs, and where he should stay to continue his development.
Goalie? Why hasn't anyone, anywhere mentioned Ward? He got Huddersfield promoted, every time I've seen him play he is the leader, the boss, he commands.
So, why isn't he No.2? At least? He's good enough,he's old enough, he could explode onto the scene just like his youth team player, Trent.

We're not far off but we have been in this position before and let it all slip. Obviously you don't get the sense of that happening this time because well Klopp is amazing and Edwards is quickly becoming the best in the business at what he does.
The return of Ljinders is more than welcomed imo.
We all kinda knew what we needed for the first team.
Goalkeeper
Centre Back
Holding Mid
Depth in attack.
We've addressed the one. Fekir looks promising. CB looks like a non-issue because of the way Lovren played in the final and Matip seemingly getting a chance to come back to fitness. Then you throw in the potential of Gomez.
Goalkeeper needs to be sorted but I have faith in Achterberg to find the right guy to play for us.
The pacy wide players for me, I don't agree that we should buy someone. Especially when you look at the targets...they are all young players and we have a plethora of young players who I think we should look to develop more than buying someone. But whatever Klopp decides is cool.
We're almost there, I can feel it.

32 games with no mistakes?
In the second leg vs City early in the game he releases a ball to early to VVD despite the player telling him to calm down and take his time.
Spurs at home he puts a cross directly back in to the middle of the box instead of out wide. Wanyama scored a great hit but Karius mistake gave him the option.
He did the same in the second leg away to Roma, put a ball directly back to Dzeko allowing him to score.
He did the same thing in the first half of the final pushing a tame shot directly back to an offside Ronaldo.
Simple fact is that we don’t have a keeper at the club that’s good enough. Spending all this money on the defence & Midfield will be a bit like building a super mansion on foundations made of sand.

Regardless of concussion which is a smoke screen from an US hospital who's patron is on the FSG board. He agreed to his medical records to be publicised to save his career.
