Aldi or Lidl?

Which one would you prefer to see on the old site of vile park, once the pink and electric blue squatters have been liquidated and the home of their non-tax paying losers has been razed to the ground?

3 stars.....Public Toilet

2 stars.....Dog's Home

Lidl for the bakery, Aldi for everything else

Hi Blue
Was wondering when you'd show up
Just a little local difficulty, the sort of thing we're used to dealing with.
I'm sure good ship Villa will weather the storm and Aldl and Lidl will end up at Small Heath

Don't worry, we will be around to partake of our usual stomp all over Blues ritual.

McP, I’m afraid your troubles are just about to begin. There’s trouble at t’mill and it’s gonna get a lot worse before it even starts to get better.
A lot of us “lesser” clubs have steadied the ship after a few turbulent years and now know where we stand (not that we are entirely in the clear nor far from having the rug pulled from under us as is the same for many clubs these days) but you lot are now shell shocked and top heavy (nothing to do with potato head’s BMI) and it is never good when “potential buyers” are being touted.
I don’t necessarily wish you well but I don’t wish you ill will...
Interesting times ahead...

Depends what you mean by worse. There will be cuts, big cuts. It's probably about time. I think we can cut a lot and still retain a decent squad.

So long as we get the finances sorted, and I think we've a decent chance of doing that, we can stabilise and work on from there.

A year ago I was astonished by the way we were going on signings. I'd have sacked Bruce instead. We now have to deal with the implications of that. There will be pain. But, not yet desperate.

It’s not doom and gloom for sure but if Dr X sells it will certainly rock the boat, so your best bet is that he and brucey baby stick around for another season.
Believe me, one more season of his style of play and you will be calling for his head.
It’s not that it’s so bad, but not progressive and full of double substitutions on 60mins when running out of ideas (no plan “B” for “brucey)...”

Think you're right. Hope Xia sorts it and stays, and I'd take Bruce for another season, if only for continuity, and he actually did OK up to a point but he ought to have done better.

Trouble is though, if you have to make swinging cuts both on an off the pitch, where does that leave room for Bruce to invest in new players?

Few Premiership players will want to join, especially on Championship level salaries; so it could be more loans, squad players, academy players, or cheap & cheerful foreign players. But will it be enough to get you promotion next season, especially when the parachute money dries up.

You could end up like Sunderland or Leeds; or even worst case scenario, another Coventry or Portsmouth or Wigan.

What you need is a White Knight (again!) to buy the club out and clear its debts; but we've been here before on that score.
