Only club with no debt

So the financial records are out and it's an interesting read. Everton are the only club with no debt or outstanding loans according to reports in the press. It's nice to see.

Our neighbors and united lead the way with outstanding debt of over £200m a pop. Both American owners will be looking to claw back these loans along with any profits as their tenures continue.

Well Man City have won the league "in debt". Doesn't mean anything being in debt when your a PL club because you've got the money to get out of it anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

City do it so it looks good on the books.
-------------------------------------------------------
Doesn't look good on their check book though does it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That debt helped win the league....debt must mean you win things, so......
------------------------------------------------------
So your continuing your trend of being successes in failure and not winning any silverware.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No debt to win nothing or debt to win nothing like some other sides? You appear to focus on Silverware and not progress now
------------------------------------------------------
Some clubs that are in debt have progressed and won nothing such as Spurs and Liverpool. Some clubs are in debt and have won something, like Man City and Chelsea.

Only one club isn't in debt and do neither of making progress or winning silverware.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So doing an Arsenal and not winning is now progress.

If you had said that these clubs were aiming to emulate Arsenal in recent years then hey, that’s okay. But using spurs as an example of how to not win but progress?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do club owners get in debt and then look to only win silverware? Or do they also look at ways of maximising revenue to pay off said debt quicker? You know by finishing higher up in the league, more prize money, further in cup comps and CL, again more money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So it’s about covering debt, not winning?

When did I ever mention Arsenal? Arsenal have regressed and not won anything this season and are in debt as well so it seems, but they are looking into a different way to move forward now.

Spurs haven't won trophies, but they've still gone from EL to a solid CL side in the last few years under Pochettino, so tell me how that's not progression?

If you think that winning trophies is the only sign of progression, then you are foolish.

You didn’t, I mentioned Arsenal.

The thing is, Arsenal went into debt to build a ground and won things. Spurs to build a ground and win nothing.....

What did Arsenal win once they moved to the Emirates? They won a couple of FA Cup's after they finished paying the stadium debt off. Arsenal won their trophies whilst they were still at Highbury in a period where they were successful. They moved to the Emirates and they struggled.

It's coming into question that a side like Spurs need to be winning trophies now to make sure they are capable of keeping and attracting that higher quality of player.

Even still, what does the success/non success of Spurs and Arsenal have to do with Everton not being in debt? Your still woeful anyway.

So when arsenal had no debt they did well.....

But isn’t debt a good thing?

Have Arsenal really done well though? A couple of FA Cup's is well and good but they've now fallen well down the pecking order both in the league and in Europe.

Now they aren't in debt, this is their 2nd consecutive season in the EL after dropping out of the CL. Actually tbf to Arsenal, being in debt was probably one of the reasons they did well because they knew they had to reach the CL to bring in them extra funds to help pay off them debts. So being in debt helped Arsenal excel in the league imo during the time when they were paying off the stadium. So actually, looking from a football perspective now, being in debt actually helped Arsenal excel in the league because of how important the money from the CL was in repaying them debts. It's no secret that Arsenal's situation would have been more bleak if they were in the EL season after season whilst paying off their debt.
