The Argentina football team have cancelled a scheduled match that was due to take place against Israel due to the player's concerns of it being used as a political tool and their objection to the treatment of Palestinians by Israel.
In response to this decision striker Gonzalo Higuain said they had "finally done the right thing". A CNN report said that "Argentina's players decided to pull out of the game, which was scheduled to take place in Jerusalem on Saturday, "in solidarity" with superstar teammate Lionel Messi".
I am so pleased that this Argentina team chose this course of action. In my eyes this has elevated the likes of Messi to even more of a hero status as their actions prove to me that some things are more important than football and that they have a strong moral compass.

TBAB, you're all over the place.
You've replied to the same comment several times.
You posted your views and you can't seem to even
remember what you said.
You're free to post your opinion and derail the thread. I'm, like others here, are also free to call out your BS.
And it seems like you missed my point. They did the right thing. Whether they do it at other point doesn't detract them from doing the right thing here. Should they? Yes. Will they? That's another thing entirely. Should football players walk off the pitch when the crowd chat racist abuse? Yes. Will they? I doubt it. People don't back doing the right thing.
You just made another strawman regarding your point about calling out Hamas. No one said or implied that. You are good at using strawman method.
And Red has covered the allegations about antisemitism. Odd indeed.

If we single out Israel, and do not call out Putin, Iran, China, S Africa, Saudi arabia, Iraq, Egypt, Or in cricket, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan, I have the right to ssk, Why Always Israel.
---------
Strawman.
All those nations have been condemned for their actions by posters. Maybe not all the same but I have and others you are arguing here have.
Nice try. But this is really pathetic attempt.
Why are we allowed to condemn those nations but not the actions of Israel? Whenever I see condemnation of those nations, I don't see you leap to their defence.
Have you leapt to the defence of, for example, Iran having a right to peaceful nuclear energy?
Why should we be able to condemn the others but not Israel? Because it is always Israel but the opposite of what you mean. We are not meant to condemn, but if we do, we're called antisemitic by Israel and its supporters.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have I used the term antisemitic here, in order to quash any legitimate criticism of Israel ???????
Has anyone?
It is now getting to the stage where critics of Israel start talking about antisemitism before anyone else!
Odd😳

TBAB was the first one to make allegations of anti-semitism..
"Or just drive Israeli jews into the sea....the preferred option of Israel's neighbours."
He's really not smart at all.. incapable of debate or context when it comes to Israel.
Never refers to them as Zionist though.

You post to tell me red has covered the antisemitism angle?
Really?
Then your choosen from of debate calls my views BS, and you use the tired, "all over the place" phrase to put my opinion n it's place.
Repeating or emphasising points is sometimes necessary, here and elsewhere.
Certain posters can misunderstand, distort or miss views they hate😏
Do you actually want to debate about Israel, Hamas, politics and sport, racism, antisemitism, hypocrisy et al?
If you want to talk, I pop on daily👍

How many sanctions of any kind, has Israel been hit by the international community for not complying with UN resolutions and trying to annexe Palestinian territory?
South Africa though it's apartheid policies had sporting sanctions and traded against it - so should Israel
Iran had financial and trade sanctions against it for not complying with international conventions - so should Israel
Russia has had financial sanctions against it for annexation of Crimea - so should Israel for the decades long attempt of annexing Palestinian territory.
But feck me just because it's Israel and people are afraid to be labelled as Anti-Semitic for any criticism of Israel.
Someone said why always Israel.. that's incorrect.. it's actually "Why Never Israel?"

I called BS on what is BS. You have built up several strawman arguments. Divert and distract from what's being said and then accuse people of something that isn't true.
Example:
You said: "Have I used the term antisemitic here, in order to quash any legitimate criticism of Israel ???????
Has anyone?
It is now getting to the stage where critics of Israel start talking about antisemitism before anyone else!
Odd"
Red replied to this point:
"TBAB was the first one to make allegations of anti-semitism..
"Or just drive Israeli jews into the sea....the preferred option of Israel's neighbours.""
That does cover it. That comment Red quoted was in reply to legitimate critisms of Israel.

Regarding the "Has anyone?" part of the question, TTliv87 said "When in doubt blame the Jews."

Yup both TBAB and TTLIV cried anti-semitism when legitimate criticisms of Israel were made.
