Where is our money coming from?

There is no doubt these are exciting times for Wolves, 35 million would be a normal squad budget for us in the past, now we seem ready to spend it on a single player.

But who exactly is financing this? Fosun no doubt have the money, but how much are they allowed to put in?

If the answer is not much, are we gambling Premier money, hoping to make the break into the top six, great if we can, if we can't, does our assault on the top six grind to a halt, and we have to stop spending?

Basically is it top six or bust.

so what you saying
----------------------------------------------------------------------
....That Wolves wage bill last season was £28.2m. You gonna have some unhappy 'stars' that got you promoted by paying them peanuts while the 'new guys' earn 4 times as much....
Talkin the talk is one thing but walking the Prem walk is something completely different.

I'm sure they'll have adequate pay-rises that reflect their ability

Surely, as Wolves supporters, you would know that Fosun aren't 'bankrolling' Wolves but 'loaning' money to Wolves. Atm Wolves 'owe' Fosun £27m, most of that to be repaid by next May. Plus owners can only inject a max of £30m. China does not like Chinese businessmen doing that outside of China. We know as we are owned by a Chinese businessman.

Complete drivel. Come back when you have found the ability to post something with an ounce of sense

I agree. The post from the Wet Bums sound like sour grapes. Our new owners aren't simply "lending money". Mind you, if i was in their position I'd be bitter too. Understandable.

As I see it there are Chinese owners and then are Chinese owners.
Some have vision, drive, ambition, business acumen and are well connected as well as being obscenely rich.
Some just like the idea of owning a football club and we see where that has led to at St Andrews, Villa Park and The Hawthorns.
Anyone who thinks Wolves will challenge the top 6 in the prem in the next 2-3 years is deluded.
Fosun have a long term plan and they are fully aware that the road to the top of the Premiership is a very long road indeed but the journey has begun and we are starting to enjoy the ride enormously.

If you get on an airoplane for a long haul flight to somewhere exotic you don't have to know how to fly the plane. You don't have to understand about air traffic control, ground handling facilities and airport protocol. You just have to sit back, relax and enjoy the flight secure in the knowledge that everything is under control and you will arrive at your destination.

'What the accounts reveal about Financial Fair Play fears
The accounts also show that net debt at the club has soared, from just £4.3m in 2016 to £23.8m by the end of May last year.
That is largely due to loans from parent group Fosun as it bankrolls Wolves' promotion ambitions. £6m is due to be repaid to Fosun this year and £21m by the end of May next year.
Wolves big spending and the £23.2m loss the club made in 2016-17 has raised fears over breaching football's Financial Fair Play regulations.'

Oh dear oh dear. Heis do you seriously believe what you read in the E & S ? If so you must know that we areabout to spend £300m on every decent striker in Europe

Keep trying Heisenberg.

The football club is owned by a holding company which in turn is totally owned by Fosun. The share capital put into the Wolves holding company by Fosun is £78m. The value of Fosun is hundreds of £billions. Like virtually all owners of football clubs they have also loaned money to the club, actually £56m. Not sure how that fits against your garbage that the most they can put in is £30m. Their intention is to grow their investment by making the club successful. There was furore when the Glazers took over Man Utd and immediately put that club hundreds of millions in debt. As they have grown the club now to a value of around £2.5b nobody cares any more. Wolves promotion is a step towards making the club worth many times more than the £78m share capital Fosun invested
