Interesting to read Salah thought about missing the World Cup when he was lying on the turf. You’d have thought he’d have been more concerned about the game he was playing in?

you mean the champions league final he had already taken part in? that he tried to continue in, but couldn't.
a final, which considering the delight from oppo fans about Real and Barca wanting him, and our own record in Europe, it's very likely he would have a chance to play in again.


or a competition his country haven't qualified for in for several previous attempts, and have a good chance of not qualifying for again in their next couple of attempts. making this very probably his one and only chance to take part in what is the pinnacle of footballing contests, something he's worked his whole life towards. you really think he wouldn't have had any thoughts about that, regardless of whatever game he was already involved in, when being forced off with a serious injury just weeks before the competition started?

I had no idea this is only Egypt's third appearance at a World Cup. I thought they would have appeared much more than that! So yeah it's understandable how much Salah cares about it.

Dunno what I'd think, I've never played professional football.
Is that your experience talking?

The sooner the deal is done, the better. It has been dragging out ever since the CL final was over and I've still not heard any concrete news that the deal is going to be completed.
