I guess it will depend on how we play in the group. If we get out of it and it's unconvincing, we'll be struggling to beat Japan or Poland, never mind Senegal or Columbia.

Wonder what the chances are of either Brazil or Germany losing at the 2nd round stage?

For me:

1. england are wasting their time playing 3 at the back.

england have two really easy games (or should be) v teams who will sit really deep first and imo it needs to be a go get early goals here attitude not 5 defenders on the pitch.

2. England have zero excuse to not get out of this group AND AND toppping the group should be as easy as drawing with a functional though very good belgium side. If they finish second on 6 points i would not be shocked though.

2. the draw for last 16 seems to put england in a good place by being either first or second. Again its proabable a game between two sides of average enough quality (england v whoever) so england have a decent change of getting past this phase.

3. I think its brazil or germany in QF for england then... = bye bye england.

433... just pile the full backs on and admit that centre area is useless and pump it long at the pace. just hold one of henderson or dier back with 2 cbs and controal the games like that.

Why put another CB in? its a total and utter waste.
