From what i gather it seems to be more up for debate out there with the one's you'd expect all involved. I haven't exactly got a survey im just going by what he said when we discussed the keepers.

Pretty much the same as here then.

I wouldn't claim him to be the worlds # 1, but he is certainly among the group who would be considered.

De Gea has made quite a few errors in a Spain shirt compared to United, that’s probably why the Spanish don’t see him as the best yet. His error against Austria 10 days ago was so bad for someone of his standard.

Yeah, he’s been crap at times for them. Not protected by a back 8 like us.

Keepers in the Spanish leagues, in general, are over rated.

Coco, Casillas, etc., are classic examples. Nothing to do with their nationality, just the style of coaching given to them in their coaching system.

They are poor at controlling their area, lousy at organising their centre backs and generally poor at decision making (not something that can be coached out at this stage).

No one is suggesting their 'shot stopping' is less accomplished, but that is an attribute shared by most top keepers. There are at least a dozen in the EPL that are as good as Coco in that department, for example.

Coco is great at 'photographers saves' - as was Casillas - but their poor decision making means when it goes right or wrong for them it becomes a matter of 'fortune' or 'misfortune'.

Basically, Coco has stored up a lot of 'negative karma' - if you believe in that sort of stuff - and his presence basically means united cannot sustain a serious league campaign because it effects the whole team. Style of play, shape, type of defenders needed etc.

Iker Casillas was way overrated. A bit like Hart, was quite good but always lacked something that all the very top keepers possessed.
