Cooper

What is it with this guy that gets him absolutely pelted with abuse on social media? He's not actually that bad a player and he's a poor choice of a scapegoat Imo. My only gripe with him is that is he a liability in terms of rash decisions and getting himself sent off, but other than that, what is wrong with people on twitter having a go at him frequently.

I thought he played well last season and stepped it up at times.

What are your thoughts on him? We have discussed this before but are your thoughts on him now Bielsa is here and he is the captain?

Captains need to lead by example.

His red cards have been due to him losing his head and/or just poor judgement.

Additionally many of his clearances are poor, putting additional pressure on the team.

Good coaching should improve him and he deserves a chance with a new boss in place.

Ramos does it every week and is captain of biggest club in world.

Cooper. Average championship defender.
Hes ok at this level but makes too many mistakes to be a "promotion player"

Rash tackles and red cards we all know about but the mistakes are usually when he leaves the line to make a tackle or header and fails to make it leaving the space behind him for opposition to then exploit.

His heading is a problem. 50p head. Never seem to know where it is going. Same with his clearances. Too many slices.

Struggles against players running at him 1-on-1 but then thats most CBs worst nightmare because generally attackers are quicker than defenders.

Hes a left sided CB which is always a positive.
Hes a great left foot long ball switch but uses it too often and becomes predictable.

For me if you have aspirations to be promoted hes a number 3 centre back who covers for injuries and suspensions.

Average player who’s a liability. Don’t want him starting every week, but when he doesn’t get sent off he’s an able player.

Good back up, decent player.

Wouldn’t get in any promotion winning sides.

I assume you are referring to the red cards comment?

When he can play like Ramos, perhaps we can overlook the red cards.

Jonny

Your missing the point completely

Nobody comparing ability

You said Captain has to led by example with red cards

Ramos is worst one for it, yet captains a side to three European cups on the bounce

I don't rate him and if we had a chance of replacing him I would.

Seems like a good lad and can have good games but you know there is an absolutely howler or brain-fart around the corner at any minute.

So Ramos is the ideal captain? Real Madrid with 10 men is a little different to Leeds with 19 men.

I want a captain who acts captainish and doesn’t lose his head and get sent off multiple times a season. If you’re happy with that, then that’s your preference, I guess....

Would we even have a chance?
