Squad for coming season.

Looks like klopp has decided to bring in some young players into the 1st team squad, already have TAA but the echo report Brewster has signed professional forms and WILL be part of the 1st team squad.

Grujic may also come back in and i suspect the likes of Wilson and Woodburn may also form part of the squad. Hope they do, no point having youngsters if you dont play em.

99.9% of the time players that are going to make it at the best level do something or they have something about them that you can say they may be good enough

With Woodburn I can’t see anything, yes Klopp gets the best out of players that don’t look anything special but for him I don’t feel it’s possible. I’d be ecstatic if if he proved me wrong as he’s a local lad and it would save us a fortune.

Yet you consider Ings solanke and origi to be a PL level front three?

He has don’t something. Our youngest goal scorer, scored a cracker on his international debut and has also assisted for Wales.

I’m not saying he’ll develop into a world beater or anything but I’m just not sure what people expect form a 17 year old given 10 or 15 mins here and there. He’s played as a striker, a wide forward and an attacking midfielder so the lad clearly has natural ability.

Isn't Woodburn Welsh

the fact is LFC need strong youth development but LFC also need a strong team and 2/3 options.

Lets be clear, I am all for wilson, woodburn and brewster getting their opportunities especially as option off bench at times BUT... BUT.. it cannot be by making do with them as the main option.

Sturridge, ings and origi are blokcing the progress of these youngsters.

We have 3 forwards and play all 3 and we don't have a go to option off bench to really push these guys along... not really. So for me if we want the youth we need to balance the squad and have that strong option and a space for the youth on the bench.

Right now:

GK: karius, mingolet ward
RB: Taa gomez, clyne (youths done well)
RCB: Lovren matip
LCB: VVD klavan
LB: robertson moreno
no 6: Fabinho, henderson, grujic
CMs: milner keita , wijnaldum, ox,
LF: Mane, woodburn?
RF: Salah, wilson
ST: firmino, sturridge, ings, orgigi, solanke, brewster

We have to clear that striker zone and get a LF in.

My issue with woodburn is he doesn't quite fit the roles we have available right now. He wants to be a no 10 or play deep and we just don't have him quite fitting into another role. SImilar to suso in fact at the time.

At this point Grujic might well go on loan or be sold, Gomez will want a CB slot, Wilson needs a chance to be salah's understudy, woodbrun needs to develop into a new role. Brewster is too young and not fit right now so i cannot see him making much impact.

Solanke should go on loan this season and sturrdge and ings should be sold but I can see that being difficult.

VJ, I have to say, without any hesitation, Woodburn has all the makings of being a top class player at LFC. Same goes for Wilson, even more so. They are the future of our club.

Brewster has signed for us? That's a surprise. I thought he'd been seriously tapped up by Bayerische Leverkusen and was on his way out and was on his way, hence the cancellation of our annual game against them pre-season.

After de Geah's performance for Spain against Portugal, and especially Ronaldos third goal - identical if not worse than the third goal against Karius - is it time to give Karius another chance?

This is the crux of the problem for me, i feel our midfield additions will improve our defence, lets not forget Can was our best ball recovering player last season on 68 times... second was firmino on 64? the leagues top player was over 120.

A) A striker should not be close to our best posession winner

B) Our midfielders should not be that far behind the best in the league.

if fabinho and keita can half that gap to the top players with 90 recoveries each this season it will improve our defence immeasurably. A defence with title winning form since VVD joined us, and which kept the most CL clean sheets last season.

But that forward line is so paper thin its terrible, we have no adequate cover for salah and Mane, Ox is a poor substitute. Even with wilson and woodburn involved we need another top player who can cover both sides in my opinion.

The mexican LF looked handy yesterday and have a very good record this season for his club

Insert .............Yet you consider Ings solanke and origi to be a PL level front three? ..........definitely - Brigton, Everton, Burnley etc all day long

Naby........He has don’t something. Our youngest goal scorer, scored a cracker on his international debut and has also assisted for Wales.........he scored from 5 yards out for us on his debut.

Jimmy....i just dont see it at all, like i said i would love to be wrong but dont think i will be

I said for years that Spearing and Flanno were nowhere near good enugh and i was blasted yet look at the both of them, Spearing is poor is league 1 and Flanno looks like a Championship player at best

We need one. even just to keep the front 3 honest.

For me i'd want klopp to be looking along his bench and be having a couple midfield options and a forward option to come on in every game and then just look along and have one or at best two young upstarts to bring on at 3-0 up with 20mins to go.

Wilson and the like need games to develop and meet the expectations. With respect to the lad cutting it up i nthe u23s is all fine and making an impact in a few games in championship is great but the step up form there to our first team as a real go to option is massive. He needs his big break.

Last year he was injured.

Ings isn't good enough at that level. Solanke, maybe worth another season but he offers nothing more than Woodburn would and should be well ahead in his development

We definitely need better quality forward cover. An injury to Firmino and we are in trouble. He might also be part of a Brazil team that goes far in the WC
