Good world cup so far

World cup has been throwing out good results in the opening round. We've still got England's group left and one more to go. But all the favourites have played and neither have won except for France, who got fortunate. This makes it more competitive, and as a neutral that's what you want to see.

Performances haven't been great in terms of excitement except for Portugal Vs Spain, and it'll be hard to for any match to top it, unless it's Germany against one of the top teams. Germans seem to have defensive vulnerability via lack of defensive cover in midfield which is good news. But their attack as we all know is terrific.

England haven't been hyped up too much which is good news. Just like last time no one expects much. But unlike last time, the team spirits seem to be at all time high. It'll be a good opportunity for them to make their mark tomorrow night with a solid performance and 3 points.

As for the players, Isco, Ronaldo and the Icelandic keeper have stood out so far. Still plenty of big names who need to turn up, namely Messi and Neymar.

Great world cup so far. Certainly better then South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014. But till .
not as good as France 98 of USA 94.

I'd say on par with German 2006.

Saying that England have a chance because they haven't been hyped up, is hyping them up.

Actually thought 2014 group stages were really good. But it's definitely looking similar to Germany 06.

Group stages were really good 4 years ago. That was sadly counteracted by easily the worst knockout stages in world cup history, entertainmentwise

Performance-wise Spain have looked a cut above the rest so far. Really unlucky against Portugal, but some of their attacking play was a joy to watch.

The others still have gears to move up into of course, but i still think on their day Spain are capable of football no one else is.

Been decent so far and most teams seem to be setting up to win games rather than scrape a draw.

Swiss looked pretty good I thought based on today and could be a surprise package

A good tournament so far. However, Brazil, France, Argentina and Germany have all failed to impress. Spain were probably the best of the fancied teams. Are the favourites all starting slowly - or is a dark horse going to step forward?
