and carried on playing , no sorry jogged about.
Now either he thinks heβs that good or he didnβt tell the medical team.
He was the only liability on a good performance last night.
Deli Ali got injured

As far as performances go last night, Hendo had a stormer, Walker is always a liability, Lingard is not a natural goalscorer, Sterling will get better and I think VAR has inhibited Deli Ali's natural playing style.

Ali was poor for sure, but seems more a system issue (as well as the injury)
Sterling was shocking imo and slowed down the game, which is ironic when he is supposed to offer pace.
Walker made a bad error but seemed super harsh to me. Henderson cant get dropped after that game he was by one of the best players on the pitch with ease.

He wasn't poor though, I really don't get this as he had an excellent first half. Creating genuinely quite a few chances, only struggled more after the injury.

This is my point...club bias plays a part, even if it is subconsious.
I rate Deli, just not as high as most the uk press as we over rate home grown players imo, but in that game he was defo a weak link. He was also no where near the level Id associate with him seeing him for Spurs, even when he had bad for in spells last year.
Ali is in the team based on his connection with Kane, and Kane was so isolated its insane. Ali joins the forward with the midfield and him and sterling in particular, just didnt offer anything really.
Ive no doubts he will improve, def more than sterling who slowed down everything!
Ali just didnt seem to fit...thats why i think it could be formation or system. At Spurs he is an integral part and even when he plays bad he is available and can change a game.
Last game I never felt at any point he could do that, and barely saw him on the pitch. He is young though and doesnt have the experience of players like Henderson, which is why I think Sterling, Lingaard and Ali will do ok, as there is so much room for them to improve from last game

Alli is a good player, and for me could become our best midfielder or creative player for the next decade.
However i've heard talksport say how he is the most valuable player in world sport and that he will be at madrid because he's the best youngster in the world etc.

I mean off the top of my head he set up Lingard for a sitter, set up Lingard with a beautiful reverse ball for that Sterling shocking miss and had that backwards header which created the chance for that shocking John Stones miss.
He had the joint highest defensive contribution in our team statistically and completed the second most passes out of any of our midfielders.
It was a game where we literally missed 5/6 sitters, should have been awarded 2 penalties, and you could argue the one we conceded was harsh.
In the first game of the tournament, a game in which traditionally teams always struggle we created an obscene amount of chances in our system. Against the African team that statistically performed the highest in qualifying, are the highest ranked AND came into the tournament looking strong.
I think England fans are just idiots tbh, the team delivered all that we could ask for AND expect of them and they are still moaning about individuals on a way OTT basis. Had Brazil put in that opening performance I think the consensus would be about how dangerous they looked.

The only change I would consider is Young for Rose purely because we need to have a left footer in the team who isn't a GK. Otherwise makes the team extremely predictable.
