Opinion changed when playing days ended

So I was listening to Roy Keane tell one of his biggest regrets was not ripping Queiroz head off when he had chance.

I used to worship Keane as player and captain but he just irritates me these days.

Figured Iā€™d ask the JA community which player changed their opinion of them (better or worse) after they hung up their boots?

Keane didn't like Queroz because CQ organised one of Utd's pre season camps at some place Keane thought to be sub standard. Even Gammon Face said the place was fine, but there weren't enough fluffy towels or mints on his pillow for hard man Keane, so he did his bollox about it. He was a bit of a prima donna despite his no nonsense image, look at the way he spat his dummy at the WC just because McCarthy set training up with traffic cones he'd nicked from a set of roadworks. Badger Face thought his sheite didn't stink. Behind closed doors I'll wager he enjoys baking and embroidery, and a glass of Prosecco whilst having a lovely catch up with his besties, the mincing, ball bag cupping fraud.

I changed my opinion on Robbie Savage after retirement. Thought he was just a muppet when he was playing, came to realise he's actually a massivecunt.

Nial Quinn, loved him as a player loathe him as a pundit.

Keane is excellent. He says exactly what he thinks. No heating around the bush with him.

I especially loved how he went from saying he wished he had ripped Queiroz' head off to saying he was a great coach with exactly the same facial expression.

Roy is clearly good for the viewing figures, but I find some of his punditry a bit of a parody of itself. I don't know the context in which the CQ comments came up, but it didn't really add anything to any discussion about how good/bad a coach Carlos is. Just seemed like airing some personal issues

Evra annoys me as a pundit. Legend at the club, but an utter Bell.

Niall Quinn

loved him as a player, never forgive him for wanting United to win the league on the last day in 2012, because he was 'friends with Fergie'. My best friend is a massive United fan but I still always want them to lose.

On the other hand, couldn't stand Gary Neville as a player, but as a pundit he is objective and well informed and worth taking seriously.. unlike most

I have changed my opinion on Stevie Gerrard. Just a bit.

I have more time for ex players if they have a go at management, than I do those who just take the easy option and snipe from the armchair as TV Pundits.

Keane has been nuts for decades, but at least when he played he had an outlet to let off steam. Now the madness is more evident in his eyes, but for better or worse, he's my Roy Keane and I'd follow him straight to hell, just for shets and geggles. I'll be attending the place anyway, so why not?

Joey Barton.

Humble guy willing to put some graft in without a sense of entitlement for a bigger job. Sol Campbell, take note.
