Rudkin....

Great job by Rudkin in the transfer window so far, what do we all think?

the mistake was to let Drinkwater go while he couldn't be sure

In light of £37m we got for DD and his subsequent performances for Chelsea, was it really a mistake to let him go whether we had the Silva deal tied up or not?

Absolutely. It was appalling from Rudkins perspective - we spent 4 months without a quality central midfielder having let DD go and not got Silva over the line. Absolutely criminal piece of transfer business and if the owners weren’t such mugs they would have sacked him. Terry Robinson went for far less.

In terms of how good a job Rudkin is doing - let’s wait and see until a) the window has ended and b) we see these players in the flesh playing for Leicester.

It looks a good window so far but many thought Musa looked a great buy for £16m. Rudkin doesn’t identify the targets, the team reporting to Macia does - but Rudkin will be judged ultimately by whether players identified were good deals for the money paid.

i don't know how you can blame Rudkin for DD's transfer request after yet another pay rise and joining his partner at a big club?
DD's the one at fault but its easier to blame Rudkin, letting him go has been proved right and no i don't want him back we have moved on.
Rudkin could sign Messi and you would still be bleating on about how crape he is.

Just because DD asked to go it doesn’t mean Rudkin had to let him, you do know that don’t you?

Nev - I don't blame Rudkin for DD handing in a transfer request. That's his choice. Nor do I think selling him and bringing in Silva was at all a bad idea in principle. The problem was letting him go before Silva was confirmed, and that's an error that is specifically his rather than anything to do with scouts or players. That it can be argued that it all turned out alright in the end is luck over judgement.

Did it turn out alright then?

Silva been poor over all, ignored a lot of the time when he eventually could play while all Season we missed a player like Drinkwater ( despite me not being his biggest fan ), to claim Anything has been proven right is just Nevs World talk!

Are we sure that the secretary operating the fax machine was fully trained? I blame him/her!

Joby - If they weren't then that's also Rudkin's fault for not providing the requisite training.

Nev - there's a saying which is fully applicable to your ongoing defence of Rudderless - 'when in a hole, stop digging'
